R.O.U.S, Rats of Unusual Size

Many years ago I was talking to a couple of railway workers at Victoria Station in London. One had been down in the old unused tunnels beneath the station. He told me, in a very strong Welsh accent, of all things, that there were rats down there... as he put it, "RATS. Rats as big as dogs"
