The way that this hooks into other systems via Lua is pretty slick too! Well done!

You could have this do anything from give the player gold to trigger apocalyptic events with enough effort - and that's impressive! :D

If an AI built the Ark before you, you would get a pop-up that you lost the game. However, if you built it first, you would survive the flood - and would be instructed to start a new game in the Classical Era (optionally excluding any Civs and City-States you met from the random pool since they'd have gone under the waves).

Then there would be an event at the start of the new game that would maybe give you a special building in your capital for being the more direct lineage of survivors or something like that. Just thinking of possibilities is exciting!

Imagine a Stellaris-like crisis system... I had an idea for a very early-game (and low-percentage chance) crisis that I call the "Antediluvian Crisis" where the deity of the world decides to flood it (think the flood in Genesis with Noah, for example). This would unlock the ability for everyone to build a special district and its buildings. The buildings would output massive amounts of CO2, as well as allow the player to build an Ark wonder adjacent to it once completed.

@SpatialX, thank you so much! I checked the examples and there were no examples of dynamic text, as you said, but it is good to know that I can save variables. This gives me so, so many ideas...

Polar Express, it has been some time since i've touched civ Vi so i might tell lies, bur you absolutely can save variables through this system and have them dynamically trigger stuff. I'm a bit unsure for dynamic text, it is possible to do but i don't remember if i included exemples in here. Flagging a country is a bit convulated and not included here, but some of my other mod had such systems.

I have much, MUCH bigger ideas too, including one that would a 10% chance that Earth gets invaded by a Hive Mind species in the Renaissance Era - and if you manage to put up a strong enough fight then you take over the Hive Mind, skip the rest of the Civ VI game and Beyond Earth, go straight to Stellaris, and play as a Hive Mind with special bonuses.

Lots of fun ideas!

tk;dr Can this event system store flags/variables in save data to trigger future events later in the game? I have grand plans for it if so!

Essentially, my goal is that - for example - you could have an event trigger if you were the lowest CO2 contributer in Civ 6 at the start of the Information Era. This would then store a value that would give you a pop-up at the end of the game, telling you that you unlocked a special start bonus for Beyond Earth.

In Beyond Earth, you would then have a Quest pop-up at the start of turn 2 which would prompt you to enter any codes you got from your Civ 6 playthrough (which you would get from said pop-up via this mod at the end of the game) and it would give you a small bonus to the Harmony Affinity.

The idea is that certain decisions and choices from one game to the other could compound and effect each other.

I've got a pretty ambitious (and far off, perhaps not guaranteed to see the light of day) idea involving these. I would like to make a system for playing a game of Civ VI, followed by a game of Beyond Earth, followed by a game of Stellaris. Each of the games would have certain choices for particular events and questlines that would affect each other.

Is this event template able to store extra variables in the save data?

In other words, could I have an event occur on Turn 142, where the player chooses option A it flags a switch that makes an event able to occur on Turn 205?
