I’d really appreciate it if you could report back and let me know if it worked for you.
If you want maximum control over how things are randomized, go with the fourth option, Character Customization.
I’ve updated the description, hopefully it’s clearer now.
I'd like an option to randomize only the spawn rate. Does such an option already exist? If so, I haven't found it; the description is confusing.
From now on, all new updates and content will be released exclusively for Build 42.
- RandomStartEnhanced: Adds a selectable profession that randomizes everything.
- RandomStartEnhancedAlwaysRandom: Automatically applies the “RandomStartEnhanced” option to everyone.
- RandomStartEnhancedAlwaysRandomCharacterCustomization: Same as “RandomStartEnhancedAlwaysRandom,” but still lets the player customize the character’s appearance.
- RandomStartEnhancedCharacterCustomization: Adds a selectable profession where the player can customize the character's appearance while keeping everything else randomized.
Hope this helps.
This mod fixes both of those issues 😁
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
ok, i'll use the Character Customizatione for my groups long term server. I like having the option to be fully randomized - iirc there is a button to random trait the character in vanilla but i haven't clicked it so im not sure on its features vs this.
either way though,, i've added the "Always Random Character Customization" one yesterday after biting the bullet and just picking one aha and yep it was like that. And it's PERFECT for my group's 'challenge' server of using Wolf Extract to start in a town and goal extract within 8~ days while hordes and stuff happen from other mods, with Day One. That fully random character experience prevents a ton of wasted time metagaming perks, it's great thank you.
- Random Start Enhanced: Adds a selecta ble option where everything is randomized.
- Always Random: Forces the player to use the "Random Start Enhanced" option.
- Always Random Character Customization: Same as "Always Random", but allows the player to customize the character's appearance.
- Character Customization: Adds a selectable option where the player can customize the character's appearance while keeping everything else randomized.
"Random Start Enhanced"
"- Always Random"
"- Always Random - Character Customization"
"- Character Customization"
Am I correct in assuming that the base "random start enhanced" gives a selectable option to randomize, always random makes both character and traits random every time, always random character customization makes just character randomized, and the last 'character customization' makes it so character is left to the user to decide?
im playing with trait mods, and one of the traits that can spawn in the start is bitten, that it is a insta reset
If you have a trait that lowers or raises the Literacy skill, a similar loss of xp is seen in the starting stats.
For multiplayer, enter the Mod ID under # Enter the mod loading ID here and the Workshop ID under # List Workshop Mod IDs .
- Semi Random: Randomizes profession and traits while allowing player control over character appearance.
- Random Profession: Introduces a new randomly generated profession to the existing list of occupations.
- Semi Random Profession: Adds a new randomly generated profession to the occupation list, offering players the option to customize their character's appearance.
- Compatibility has been added for the Blackouts trait "Hand Torch".
2) it is from "Monkey's Start Scenario - Base"
3) Thanks )))
2) I haven't tested the mod with other trait mods. Is the one you're using available on the Workshop?
3) I've actually never used this setting, so I've completely missed it. I'll take a look at this when I have time.
1) Perhaps you can create a "random" occupations as the mod toggle rather than force us to be randomize when everytime respawning?
2) Character get nothing on spawn with modded traits (etc start with some camping supplies )
That's a cool idea. I might look into that when have the time. Feel free to leave more suggestions whenever you think of something.
I would suggest the idea of adding more setting for the spawn.
For example ; if the player spawn in a house or building, and there's at least one vehicle parked on the driveway/parking, it get directly added to the player key ring.
So you can start a game with a character that actually has a car.
Could be nice to help building some background to the character, some rp settings.
- New sandbox settings: choose maximum negative traits and the ability to exclude deaf and illiterate traits.
