It gives them alternate textures and I've been doing a whole playthrough with this mod on 1.5. It bugged out when using 1.6, which is why they all had the red boxes as heads I think.

My bad man I'm a fucking dumbass. Another mod that has this one as a prerequsite was bugging out and it wasn't this mod. Your mod works perfectly as intended but by brain don't :(

this is updated for 1.6. I can't do anything to fix it without a log of some kind. Ping me in a troubleshooting thread in the rimworld discord @ discord.gg/rimworld with a Hugslog with debug mode enabled.

the most likely cause is a mod conflict or your mod version is out of date due to issues with the steam workshop.

@mien Outside of the purview of the mod. If you're having trouble keeping avali alive at room temp, try;
> using coolers
> making dusters and cowboy hats
> living in cooler climates (generally boreal and tundra are just fine for this, if you're going to run this mod having them living in a desert makes ZERO sense, sorry
> genemodding them using Biotechs system to fix this in a sensible way

trust me, there's SO much you can do to make them work. I've done extreme desert avali runs. You can do it without cheating and making them survive room temp conditions. Think outside the box, and think rationally.

The Avali Isolationists have zero problem raiding your 120f Desert Base.

V1.5.2 has been released. The update does very little but change out the old sprites for new ones.

As I know I can't please everyone, there does exsist alternative sprites for those interested, made by Rekku here - https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3044430793 . There's alot more technical stuff under the hood that allows for tri-coloring from what I know, and considering Rekku is a good friend, I'd be dammned if I didn't throw them a bone.

Try bionic eyes, getting better eyesight genes from traders or harvesting, melee, massed formations, psycasts, gunlinks, and other vanilla options. There's ways to fix it without needing to add new implants or bionics in the vanilla and even within Biotechs own gameplay loop.

Also, a TMYK - Plural of Avali is Avali. Avalis, Avaloi, Avalies and Avalie are all improper plurals- much like plural of moose is moose, and plural of geese is geese, plural of Avali is Avali.

Without the Avalie implants for fixing their eyes, just taking their bad eyesight with delicate makes them quite miserable.

I recommend at least porting their implants if you don't import their gear as well

Minor version update - mod works with the 1.6 unstable, go wild. Won't know about Odyssey support until it releases, if it will need support at all. Also surprise is here, if you noticed it :>

Ideology support is delayed due to life and some challenges with it.

Also looking for artists willing to replace the current avali sprites with new ones fitting the vanilla style - DM on discord if you're interested

Hey yall! I'm waiting on a small surprise for the next update, but update 1.5.1 is almost finished- It *should* be done after the surprise is finished, and I've settled in after moving in with my SO! This update will include some further Ideology support, and faction TL changes for the isolationist faction twards spacer tier (was outlander-industrial).

minor update for subscribers - living situation has greatly improved. I'll be able to provide a version update for the next update/expansion this year if/when it happens. I'm looking into asking around some of the other avali mods to see if borrowing textures to use for an Ideology style pack to build in is okay - I'd commission or otherwise make my own for this, but I am no artist, nor can I afford an artist at the moment.

I usually build a bunk house specifically for them, and give them seperate workshops. Common spaces around the colony are on closer to the regular pawn's lower comfortable temperature and the avali's higher comfortable temperature.

Consider adding coolers, living in colder climates, or stopping them from wearing apparel that has a max temp malus. Generally most Avali will be fine in temperate climates with a duster made of decent material (Devilstand and Hyperweave being the best)

TL;DR - Faction bloat. Tons of other mods already add a ton of factions that do just that, there's really no point in doing it. More factions means worse performance means more points of failure means more bloat - that's also why I haven't done anything crazy like add avali guns. This mod is designed to be performant and light, and I do not plan on deviating from that idea; there's tons of other mods, and I do not want to make your performance worse by adding a shitton of stuff that allready exsists (like more guns).

the lore is whatever you want it to be chief. i'm not the lore police lmfao, but yeah traditionally they're just aliens.

Xenotypes are a far better system to HAR in terms of just being compatible / working with, so I've kept this alive for that sake.

Does their lore adapt for the setting they’re modded into? I mean they’re aliens in Avali lore but would they be a distant human xenotype in Rimworld?

For those of you coming to report any potentially game-breaking bugs - I HAVE PUSHED A POTENTIALLY SAVE-BREAKING UPDATE TO MASTER. This can be potentially reverted by going to the mod file > defs > > factiondefs > factions_misc.XML, and changing the factiondef var from OutlanderRoughBase to PirateBandBase. You may wish to make a copy of the mod with this var changed if you choose to do so. Please report any bugs as normal. Thanks!

No. As a side-note for HAR users, when running this and Biotech Avali Ext and Alt Art, there does exsist a bug between HAR and Gene Tools that causes avali pawns to become partially transparent in some locations.

Avali will not count as xenos for ideoligions explicitly due to the fact that it world require me to learn HAR 2.0, something I have no interest in learning. If someone makes a patch, and sends it to me, I will integrate it with the mod (with proper crediting) On the other side, however, I am working on a potential update to turn the avali raider faction from Pirates to a rough-outlander equivalent.

as a heads up for the future - I am currently unable to provide future content updates and or updates in general due to homelessness.
