- Added tiny pills also featured in DeathMatch.
- Removed heal-on-kill. Get those pills.
- Ragdolls or gibs now work, but aren't colored yet.
- Rocket jump damage reduction isn't as excessive anymore.
- Improved support for server-side addons.
- Fixed max ammo issues previously present on certain weapons.
- Fixed jump start/end animation issues previously present on certain weapons.
- Improvements to the spawn picking algorithm.
- Other fixes, optimizations and overall cleanup.

You can't get more vanilla than Hydro though. That was one of the original 5 maps for TF2, so back then you either played this, 2Fort or Dustbowl lol

And Phoenix isn't even that vanilla as it looks like an Overwatch map where is obvious that the aesthetics came first and gameplay second.

I just don't like this map and don't want to see it in the game. I'd rather have more good vanilla maps like phoenix or simple vscript maps like haarp. We don't need a third pass time or manpower like gamemode that no one plays. Let valve add something actually fun.

Tired of these Zesty Witnesses and Mönkey Butt-scratchers. Running around off like muppets parroting every word from their leaders. What purity are you fighting for in this 17 y/o game that been practically abandon by its devs.

If you think adding a new gamemode would destroy TF2, you are a clown. What is destroying TF2 is not some new gamemode, cosmetic, warpaint, nor a terrible optimized map but truly is the devs lack of attention and care for the game

Team Fortress 1 didn't use to give overheal from health packs. You are thinking of Doom 1 & 2 as Quake removed that feature lol

Played with with a few friends, had a great time! Especially love the overheal from health packs, really throws me back to the Quake Team Fortress days.

It's a pity, I won't swear at people who are drowning an excellent regime for the summer again. There was already a similar story in the winter of 2023. Do people stupidly want the game to really "die" or get only caps? What is the problem with adding new modes, can someone explain it to me normally without haight and personal views!?

I really hope that Valve ignores the opinions of randoms who follow a YouTuber's word as if it were the bible incarnate and adds this game mode to Team Fortress 2.
Those Tf2 "purists" never want anything good for the game and only seek to ruin what is already fun (like various weapons like the sandman or the caber)

Not to mention all the kids who are trying to copy Zesty Jesus word by word, do NOT in fact, play Open Fortress, have never played nor will ever have the intention of playing it.

How do I know they don't play Open Fortress? Because the community in there is very VERY small and we can all recognize everyone's names, and none of these stans here ring a bell lol

The people who say “go to Open Fortress” are the same people who say “Go to Team Fortress 2” when they see someone playing a copy of theirs.

The original character made for the deathmatch sourcemod is not the same as the one used in open fortress. The one used here was created about roughly half a decade ago or atleast the concept

Well, you are wrong as this merc was designed like a decade ago for a TF2 mod that was kind of canceled (or shifted?) before Open Fortress and is nowhere near the TF2 "modern artstyle" that a lot of workshoppers use now, symple because of how old his design is.

But yeah, I angree in that all the maps in this collecton feel rushed and lack polish in general. As they didn't even bother to remove or at least block areas that will server no purpose on a FFA mode with no teams.

Lacks polish, the custom character has the same quality of modern Tf2 workshop cosmetics deviating from the original art style. Most of the maps here feel half baked and still have team spawn rooms from the original hydro which serve no purpose in this deathmatch mode. Another example would be the Forge map that’s in this collection has unfinished art pass in the background; this mode is nowhere near “casual ready”.

No. This is not Team Fortress 2. Go back to Open Fortress where this belongs.

Hydro, but it's in a playable gamemode. I've noticed a lot of the time players pile into the dish part of the map, leaving the rest unused outside of a random encounter, but it's open enough to still be fun.
