Also the mausoleum2 backdrop (appears randomly in the mausoleum) uses the vanilla pits instead of this mod's.

For some reason this mod doesn't seem to change the corpse3 backdrop at all, neither the rocks nor the pits. It's the backdrop used in corpse rooms that are filled with blood.

That's kinda the problem... with improved backdrops, membership card and your background for it get buggy, so it's shows the prehistoric one on one half of the room, and the improved backdrop's shop on the other side, this only happens in the membership card room. I don't really get any bugs in crawlspaces.

the idea isn't too bad but there's so many mods on the workshop that do cooler stuff for crawlspaces that it isn't worth keeping, although if i'm not wrong, membership card will still have the prehistoric backdrop

I recommend it if you can't find a way to make it compatible with improved backdrops, it's kinda weird for the membership card to take you to a prehistoric cave anyways

should i do an update that completely removes crawlspaces stuff? that way, nothing should break

you can turn off the rocks improved backdrops adds in the config menu

mcyum6815; no worries, i'm not really sure how to fix that one though

also i hate adding onto problems but improved backdrops also has custom rocks (just slight improvements to vanilla rocks), which replaces the rocks from this mod. my fix was to copy the files that this mod has, and drop them into the grid file of improved backdrops (this was my best at explaining, but i think it'll be better for you to see it yourself than have someone explain it)

nocturni it happens with improved backdrops. without it is just the normal primitive caves stuff

yeah the issue also happens with member card areas, top half is split from the bottom half in a weird way

i think i could add a check for improved backdrops and make it avoid changing crawlspaces in that case. i'll look into it when i can but glad you could find a fix

@nocturni ok so apparently its another issue with improved backdrops (my bad for not checking before posting) this is because improved backdrops has unique stage-specific crawlspace sprites. stages depths, dank depths, necro, mauso, gehenna, sheol, and cathedral have invisible walls. womb and all its variants are fine in terms of things being invisible, but the sprites look disconnected. my fix for this was to delete all the crawlspace sprites from this mod.

Does this mod mess with crawlspace visuals in any way? The walls/floor are sometimes invisible

i think you can use Mod Config Menu to toggle the challenge room changes from Improved Backdrops

@mcyum6815 Both mods change the challenge room backdrop and are most likely interfering with each other.

this + improved backdrops makes the challenge rooms look weird

@pipejar2064 @nocturni i actually made a mod that does just that (inspired by that soul ore rock mod). The way i did it was let the mod load first using !, copy the rock spritesheets and edit them, and also copy the lua code section related to StageAPI rock calling. This should only override the rocks and let the rest of the mod do it's job.

i added some screenshots, my pc doesnt want to take good screenshots on isaac so i did what i could, if anyone wants to submit some that look cooler, i'll add them

can you post pictures of the mod in practice? I mean, there's no images outside of the mod's thumbnail to showcase what the mod adds, adding that would make more people subscribe to the mod, methinks

every time i think that this mods done, i end up doing an update… your version would end up being outdated or something

Would it be fine if someone (me) were to hypothetically make a version of this with different tinted rocks? i know it's a bit silly to ask if it's okay to mod a mod, which in and of itself is an fan continuation of another mod, which in of and itself is a redistribution a portion of ANOTHER, bigger mod; but I figured I should just ask lol
