one of the maps that i always blacklist from the queue, absolutely horrible and unbalanced for defenders with all the flanking and barely any spots for sentry nests and lets not even mention the eyesore of an artstyle straight up from a stop motion film

i hate all of the tropic crisis maps but this map is insane i love it i mostly play on it keep making things like this. personally this is better than goldrush, upward and badwatee

You need to extract the custom content that its embedded in the map
You need to open the bsp with GCFScape

The only thing is that GCFScape can't extract anything from compressed maps, so first you need to uncompress patagonia to be able to extract the content from the bsp

Put this in the in-game console without the quotation marks: "bsp_repack -nocompress maps/pl_patagonia.bsp maps/uncompressed/pl_patagonia.bsp"

Now you will have a uncompressed version of the map in your tf\maps inside a new "uncompressed" folder, and you can extract the custom content with GCFScape and merge it with your /tf folder

about the sfm port that i am trying to do
i wanted to ask if any of your members have the custom textures made for this map
since i cant find textures themselves in tf2 folders that was made for this map
wich leads to an error with the missing textures and the export
for example CUSTOM/PATAGONIA/BLENDDARKGROUNDTOGRASS02_REDUCEDETAIL
wich is the texture i couldn't fine anywhere

Indeed the first stage last point is a bit complicated for blue
Probably red spawns too quick, which i'll change but also I need to change other stuff too
Probably i'll see of implementing them after we are done with the mvm map for the mvm update

I was flying around with noclip looking for secrets. Apparently this map has 2 unused stages? I thought this map only had a single stage with 2 points, which is awfully short for a payload map. It always ends with an impenetrable defense from RED, even on servers where the matchmaker struggles to balance a 12v2 server.

Also, the cart was designed to slide back on the last point, but RED's defense doesn't have enough space directly facing the cart unlike pl_phoenix or pl_thundermountain. RED has to defend perpendicular to the cart and it's a lot more inefficient way to stop enemies. I love this map's concept, but I've rarely seen one team's score end up with from 2 to 7. It's 0, 1, or 8 most of the time.

Honestly this map needs some revision since there are too many flank areas to the point where the map is punishing and unfair for the RED team. The first stage is not bad since most of the routes leads to the same area, but it gets south for the rest. For example, on the last point of the second stage, there are windows on the left and right buildings, the BLU team can simply walk into there, but RED, on the other hand, only few classes can climb up and have the access to it. This means it wouldn't be possible for RED to push with uber or kritz from the other way around. I think it would be better for RED if you place little props to step up to the window.

Hello, I just noticed that a section of RED's spawn area on Stage 2 near the rapids seems to glitch out after we captured it. Dunno what caused it, but thought I'd mention it.

Enjoying longer games and pleasant visuals so far. New flank route on last on second is good addition.

P.S. Maybe remove Brazilium bars from spawn room on second stage

This map's skyboxes are too big. There's a person who frequently plays demo and simply stickyjumps to the opposing spawn to destroy teles, and whilst he's using cheats, this simply shouldn't be possible. The sky should be clipped to only allow for only a little over rocket jump height.

@Eli Yeah, it's a stage 2 last. Did you try placing a sentry there and then breaking it? There used be a sentry on top of that ramp in my case.

On the new flanking route: shooting Loch up the ramp made of tubes makes projectiles hit the air and shatter.

There are alot of empty spaces on the map, it needs some more details
There is even one little building with no windows or barells or any thing in it... It Just looks sad

@I like Chop Goblins. I disagree, matches feel very balanced, and even intense sometimes, of course you will have your occasional steamroll lobbies, that can happen in any payload map, but a lot of people seem to enjoy the long nature of this map. So far the reception has been very positive.
But you are free to decompile the bsp and make your own version I guess.
