So I started a new game just to try this mod out, I don't really understand why my pawn is loosing belief rapidly and gaining it for other ideoligions - he's on his own, no one else to talk to about other beliefs, he's got lots of positive thoughts related to his ideo, his traits align with ideo, and yet his belief is rapidly dropping.

I've tried using dev mode to make him write a religious book in the hopes reading it would help improve his belief, however when he finishes it the title is of another ideo - it does seem connected to his ideo I think, but the titles seem random

I hope this is safe to remove mid save as currently it doesn't seem to be working for me, great idea for a mod though so hopefully it works again sometime :)

@Evenstar If anything, I think its because this mod changes how ideology conversion works (as in making conversion events harder/more detailed), and adding this mod mid-save might mess up your ideology. Not sure tho, take that with a grain of salt.

@Mr. Plague Doc - Thank you, but I've played over 5000 hours and add mods mid save all the time (that say they're safe to add), and ofcourse if I'm really worried I can always back up my saves beforehand :)

I just wondered why this mod specifically said it was unsafe, as if there's a particular reason I can weigh up whether I'm happy to take the risk or not

@evenstar Never, EVER add mods mid save for rimworld, even if mods say its safe to add because adding mods mid save can corrupt your save. Trust me, ive lost too many saves this way.

Does anyone know why this is unsafe to add mid save? As in, does anyone know the consequences? I'd really like to use it in my current save if possible

@church.exe would also be cool for a ritual to go along with that, which converts a number of your colony to the reformed ideology. top quality would convert your whole religion, with good quality converting maybe 50-75%, bad quality converting only a few, and horrible only your moral leader

This might be too big of a thing to add, but it'd be interesting if when an ideology is 'reformed' instead it just creates a new version of that ideology, (presumably applied to whoever your ideology's moral leader is) and then that person has to 'convert' the other members of your colony over to it. (which, if the beliefs are significantly different, would be hard since their opinion of the 'new' ideology would be low)

It doesn't make a lot of sense how one day your entire colony can think cannibalism is abhorrent, only to hold a town meeting and decide, "y'know what, we all suddenly believe cannibalism is good now".

It'd mean if you wanted to do a major ideology shift instead you'd want to slowly shift beliefs over a series of different smaller reformations instead, because you couldn't convince your colony to switch if you just did one large reformation.

I also got the same problem as @Virone.
Mods with resurrection-abilities seem to cause similar issues, although from the looks of it this might be less of a mod conflict and more of an oversight?

Big fan of the mod, is there any way of getting the list of a pawn's thoughts on other ideologies to appear outside of the social UI tab? With enough factions in the world (not even that many honestly), the list is too long to appear within that tab.

When a pawn is resurrected as a shambler (e.g. from deathpall), the pawn seems to lack a valid ideology tracker. This causes a NullReferenceException in EnhancedBeliefs.IdeoTrackerData.CertaintyChangeRecache. Suggest adding a null check for pawn.ideo or related objects.

I am not sure if it is the mod or just a conflict from my modpack (I have VBE on and MO) and my pawn won't go to a lectern to finishing writing an inspired religious book, not sure if I am missing something

Found an incompatibility with alpha books where religious books from this mod spawn in the abandond libraries with no data. If you mouse over them in caravan screen it soft locks the game forcing a reset

Honestly wish that pawns could make religious books outside of the enlightenment inspiration. Maybe with some compat via VBE?

Love the idea, but had to remove it as it was causing extreme lag spikes every few seconds. Per dubs performance analyzer, it was making 9,000 calls in bulk to the social thoughts worker every time it spiked, even though I only have 5 pawns

I think there is a problem with ghouls xenogene implanting. The procedure itself has no issue, but it keeps lacking lot of intended genes from original implant.
I had no problem with colonists gene implanting, so it has something with ghouls I guess?

love the concept, but something weird is happening, and i dont believe it is intended, or if it is, i"d like to know how to tweak it.
my religious leader pawn is basically capped at 100 mood all the time, and get basically only religious enlightenments. is there a way to tweak that ? some setting to make the religious enlightenments extremely rare ? my colony is about 15 years old and i have around 25 religious books...
I looked around in the defs and found the inspiration defs file but nothing there says how likely it is compared to the others.

I like the concept, but it definitely feels like sometimes it just doesn't work out. For some reason, even if I'm doing all of my rituals, have all 3 of my ideological artifacts, etc., sometimes a pawn just doesn't resonate properly with the ideology. If I had some way of knowing exactly why (I'm assuming from them having 'negative thoughts' about certain aspects of my ideology).
I'll keep it favorited though. :)

Is this compatible with Wololoo? Its a mod that changes how conversion works with prisoners and seems just different enough to maybe work, however I'm unsure currently so figured I'd ask

The opinion on ideology system is really bad, im sorry, it just makes it so after a bad streak everyone turns into the first ideology that arrives... This should be reworked imo. Other than that, cool mod.
Can you please include whether it's safe to add/remove mid save?

Dang I tried to disable Religious Inspirations with cherry picker because they keep making a bunch of unfinished books but that for some reason doesn't stop them

I ended up having to remove this one - I'd have traders show up, and 3/6 of my people would flip to their belief system one-by-one (Iron-Willed did nothing to prevent it, either).
Even with Proselytizer set to Frequent in my own ideoligion, it's not enough to maintain my own people's beliefs.

I'm sure this mod is nice once the player knows what they're meant to do, but at the moment it's killing off my own ideoligion faster than I can keep up with.

I love the idea of being able to create religious texts, so that even if your own people die out, someone else could show up and learn the belief system you began the game with.

I do feel that the Certainty effect should have a floor to it though, to prevent people from giving up their faith as soon as someone else arrives and begins talking. Perhaps if that passive decrease stopped when they reached say 50-25%, that might be a suitable compromise?

I also have issues with religious books with no name coming up as quest rewards. Is it possible to have a setting to remove the books from quest rewards please?

Player's fixed Ideology Doesn't appear in opinion screen for certain pawns
and its certainty reduction chance become zero.

When you create your fluid ideo, use Add Precept to give them Proselytise: Sometimes or better. They should reinforce themselves.

You don't have to rely solely on what your chosen meme already has.
(Also you can keep pressing the random button to get two or three starting memes in your fluid ideo ;D)

Started a fluid rancher start. Had tons of animals, pasture surrounds. 0 certainty on everyone. Literally cant do anything about it. Like I said before. Some starts are impossible to keep certainty.

Great mod idea but completely imbalanced. If you start fluid and choose some memes that don't have any precepts your pawns can act on, then their certainty will drop to 0, and festivals cannot compensate. Then some passing by caravan will flip their religion.

I tested with literally those two mods and the moralist with nothing to do except write the book and he doesn't. I examined the book with dev mode Inspector and the "Ideo" property is set to null, the same as the "Creator" one. I then looked through the code.

I believe you may have something weird going on with one of your other mods that is stepping in the way.

@Delmain I am also using NoJobAuthors and 340 other mods and I have no issue. You need to set your religous head to also do Art. What I am usually doing is setting Art to 1 when I need him to finish a religious book
