They look cool, so yes only cosmetic
Do the tracks serve any purpose or is it just cosmetic?

So I have a track set made up of 3x3 wheels with 2x2 wheels adding tension, for some reason the track I'm using is aligning to the 2x2 wheels rather than the 3x3 and it makes the tracks look misaligned.

Ah, okay. I'm not sure what the update for this mod was for, but I tested the roadwheels again. The wheels just sink into the ground, no matter what tracks I use. So, it's an issue with KGS, I think. It works just fine with AWG wheels, though.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 25 OCT a las 16:33
Not sure, I tested a couple when I added it and it worked well enough
76561198040172855 25 OCT a las 16:32
Do all the tracks work properly for you with the T-80 roadwheels in KGS?

This is what the collider looks like for the track in the picture you sent (CV90 Mk.4), the rest of my tracks should have the same setup

Interesting, thank you
Digi 23 OCT a las 15:06
From what I saw [i.imgur.com] there's 3 issues:
- the wheel collider is rather small that even the wheel sinks into the ground.
- the track segment has details poking outwards.
- my algorithm is not great.

You can add a "track_collider" dummy in the track segment model to override its boundingbox, make it around the center solid bit without including the bits that poke out, to let them sink into the ground.

As for my algorithm, it's a shrink wrap over the wheels and often when the middle wheels are not outwards enough to be "caught" by that web, then they in-between bits are free to collide with the ground, which with enough things (big track segment box, small wheel physics) it will go higher into the wheel than it would otherwise do if it were caught by the shrinkwrap. It's complicated to fix and not sure if I'm ever going to tackle that =) Easier to tweak the other two points to reduce the clipping to not be as obvious.
76561198040172855 18 OCT a las 3:44
Alright, I actually asked Digi and the most likely reason why the wheels are clipping through is because the Physical Colliders are putting the wheels way too close to the ground. That's probably stopping the tracks from aligning with the wheels as the tracks won't go below the voxels. I just tested by turning off Ground Collisions in your mod and it works fine because now the tracks can go underneath the voxels to wrap around the wheels.

So, you may want to inform the modder of KGS that they'll need to tweak that for it to work properly with this mod.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 17 OCT a las 17:50
You'd have to ask Digi, he's the one that made the Track Framework, I simply added a couple of models!
76561198040172855 17 OCT a las 17:13
Instead of trying to make your tracks a certain width, maybe you could try to add a feature in your new update where players can manually adjust the width, length and thickness of their tracks? Similar to what you can do in Sprocket. Then there would be no need to bother with getting IRL dimensions for your tracks in the next update. :D
76561198040172855 17 OCT a las 17:11
Oh, wait, don't get me wrong! I love this mod, it's fantastic. All the tracks work perfectly with the AWG wheels, it's just these new T-80 wheels in KGS have clipping issues. It's a very new update so it's to be expected. I just figured to give you some heads up.

The new update sounds like it'll be quite amazing, though! As for dimensions, I've already figured out how to adjust the tracks myself and have the exact dimensions I want for the tracks. It's really nice that your mod has an in-game real time reload function so I could observe every new change without having to reload the world!

I've already created 630mm tracks, which are the exact width of real life modern tanks such as the M1 Abrams, Leopard 2, K2 Black Panther, Leclerc T-14 Armata and so on.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 17 OCT a las 16:59
I know there are many issues with this mod, I intend to do a V2 update by starting anew (fixing these issues and getting irl-accurate dimensions). However this will take a lot of time and I already have many things planned before this update!
This mod was a silly little thing I made in a rush because we finally had animated tracks in Space Engineers, I never expected it to blow up like it did, so please bear with me until I get this update out
76561198040172855 17 OCT a las 16:12
Hello, I see you've made an update so this mod works with the new KGS T-80 roadwheels. I just wanted to let you know that the wheels still "clip" through the tracks and don't seem to move seamlessly with the tracks over terrain.
BoompaBlubbah 5 OCT a las 10:55
Hi! How do I select a track? They are in my screen, but I can only select wheels then Finalize track. How to switch to another model of tracks, which key?
Syphond 17 SEP a las 9:18
yes i own the grid, as i had just pasted it in.. i was able to place the default track patterns that come with the builder.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 17 SEP a las 4:45
Are you sure you own the grid? If the grid is considered neutral, you won't be able to place the tracks
Syphond 16 SEP a las 17:55
Cant place any of these tracks after the update. Not sure it its this mod or one of the others needed for this to work. Visually they display as options but can not select them.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 9 AGO a las 12:43
This is just an addon that adds some tracks right. I'm not the author of the framework. And I also clarified that I will keep it on "life support" if it breaks after an update, just not adding any new track models.
Livian-8 8 AGO a las 1:36
"This mod isn't getting updated anymore."
boy, this fun was short lived
76561198040172855 10 JUN a las 13:40
Hello, I'm not sure if it's possible but is there any possibility of there being a track width slider? Tracks on modern tanks are typically between 600mm - 700mm in real life but it seems that your tracks are either 500mm - 550mm (most tracks in this pack) or 760mm (CV90 tracks).

It's not terribly important but it does make it harder to create accurate dimensions for tanks in-game. Thank you for this awesome mod, though!
Krossark 1 JUN a las 1:33
Hi, I'm having a problem with caterpillars that disappear on their own. Any ideas? Thanks.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 30 MAY a las 8:55
It should be fixed now
FezLetude 29 MAY a las 17:43
I'm getting a message saying the discord link is invalid
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 29 MAY a las 12:27
Sure, you can DM me from the SETB server, link is in the description of this page
FezLetude 29 MAY a las 10:27
Better yet I could just send you the additions if you wanna add it to your mod
FezLetude 29 MAY a las 10:00
I added wheels from the 'more powaah' advanced wheels to your mod, do I have permission to re-upload it so my boys can install it on our server?
CosmicDonut 18 MAY a las 17:26
These tracks are great man, good job!
Strong Hoov ✅ 7 ABR a las 10:08
That be so bloody amazing!
Ngl I absolutly love this addon for the Tank Tracks Framework & API mods.

But after a very long time of using it.
It does feel quite lacking for building any new uniqe looking tanks.

Also I'd love to see some "original designed" Sci-fi tracks for space vehicles. Or construction tank treads for utility. (Rubber / Metal)

If you really do deside to do add more new tank threads, could you also fix the fliped threads joints issue.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 7 ABR a las 9:19
When I stop modding WARNO and IF I remember this, I will add it @Strong Hoov ✅
Strong Hoov ✅ 4 ABR a las 2:18
PLEASE add MORE new tranks.

Wishlisting for > 103 A (S tank) Tank tracks.
STUV 13 MAR a las 22:52
The problem is that when moving, the tracks do not respond to the movement of the grid, but still spin.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 13 MAR a las 17:06
The tracks only move when the grid moves, wheels can move independently and tracks will ignore them
STUV 13 MAR a las 15:43
Help, me please. I'm found bug in track mod. How to fix ?

Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 3 MAR a las 4:22
Nope, I'm not adding anything else
Jacob the night fury 2 MAR a las 22:56
will there more tracks options down the line?
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 21 DIC 2024 a las 14:34
I'd like to add it but last time i added a suspension support it created 498 errors, and i still don't know why, but im sure ill get it right eventually
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 21 DIC 2024 a las 14:33
Yeah i don't support lifted suspensions
Lt.Fenix 21 DIC 2024 a las 14:30
@[CSU] Rightraoedhelontidae
Turns out the problem I was actually having was that your tracks don't appear on lifted suspensions. It was only displaying the default "over the tire" tracks and nothing else, so I was confused and thought I had to do something special.
When I use the normal suspensions everything is obvious and your tracks do show up.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 16 DIC 2024 a las 7:04
Lt.Fenix: I thought i put it in the required mods, but must've removed it since some mods add the builder directly
I'm gonna add it back
stormarmy 15 DIC 2024 a las 22:04
Oh right, that makes sense

Didn't see the note at the bottom of the description, apologies

I did just sub to the supported non-WC mods though which I wouldn't have otherwise, so thanks :)
Lt.Fenix 15 DIC 2024 a las 16:05
@[CSU] Rightraoedhelontidae
Ah, okay, thanks. It might be a good idea to put this in the description, as it's not immediately obvious.
Rightraoedhelontidae  [autor] 9 DIC 2024 a las 7:27
Stormarmy: Yes, it just means you don't have all the supported mods, perfectly normal behavior

Lt.Fenix: You need some sort of trackbuilder, the one from Digi works great "Tank Tracks Builder"
Then select all your wheels, press left click and then scroll up or down to change the track type, left click again to place those tracks
stormarmy 9 DIC 2024 a las 0:40
are the 115 errors in the log about blocks not existing normal?
Lt.Fenix 8 DIC 2024 a las 16:27
I couldn't find this anywhere, but how do you change the type of track you want?
H Bomba 13 NOV 2024 a las 22:22
Do you think you could add support for lifted suspension wheels? there's already a track api mod for it but the default tracks are so ugly lol, if you could integrate these on this it would be fantastic
RichyN25 20 OCT 2024 a las 23:13
while holding the tank track tool how do I change from the basic over the tire track to the others? can't seem to find what the keybind is
Victoria, Angel of the void 9 OCT 2024 a las 20:39
Alright. I'll be in contact. o/
