I've also seen a few events that refer to the player empire, and the empire name is blank. Usually in the button you press in events. For example, one of the events in the decaying birch world origin in Gigastructural Engineering is supposed to say "Another thing for the "empire name" achievement" or whatever, but instead the empire name is blank, despite not being blank anywhere else. I also saw it in at least two other events.
it is at the line 19004
Expected colon(:) at line 416 and column 5 in localisation/english/ben_random_names_l_english.yml
If that happens, though, adding new name formats should not be so hard, and if I'm poked in here I'll probably do it.
That's assuming things don't change again, but I don't see why they would.
Otherwise, though, it'll probably keep working fine regardless of what else changes.
Just wondering though.. if this stays as it is, what will actually happen when new governments/authorities get added? Would it simply give nothing (as there's no names for new governments), or straight up not work?
For the war names, I'd say a maybe .
From my quick gander, it looks quite doable - and less likely to need ongoing maintenance - but it's also going to be more time-consuming to test. I can certainly give it a try, though.
Unfortunately, changing the file that define the formats and name parts does change the checksum, so the mod isn't achievement compatible, even if it doesn't change a thing about actual gameplay.
I think only graphical mods can get away with them, but I'm not sure, really.
I'll put it up on the description, either way - might as well be clear.
If it's not changed again, whoever may follow won't have to figure it out again.
