Valor they only appear for a short time, you will need to come up with a way for you to mark what direction they are from you. a good way is to for example to make a gps of "/gps nwn 6k" so you know the distance from that marker.

Just started my run, but the beacons leading you to a structure keep disappearing whenever i get my camera in their direction, is this something that im doing wrong, or is it a bug/feature?

Im playing the old scrapyard mod and enjoying it very much. it feels like it should have been the default game experience. I hope you update this really soon to include food and the new enviromental effects

This has been really refreshing and fun. It creates a completely different style of game, so if you find yourself stuck in a routine and waiting for SE2 survival to come out, this can give you something to do. It requires creative problem solving, and might lead your engineer to say things not on your bingo card. ("Yes, and outhouse, I can get a large steel tube from the toilet!")

I will probably give scrapyard rules a try on other planets next, but if you want to play in the world of Splitsie's video series (which I recommend for guidance and inspiration), this is the place to start.

not needed in single player where you can turn off trash cleanup in the admin panel

multiplayer is a different matter, that depends on server settings, public/private numbers active, who runs it and more things i am most likely forgetting

check the first build component of each block, if its a construction frame everything is fine if not then issues are there. there is the option of deleting the save unsubbing and resubbing to the scenario, because maybe your copy is damaged somehow.

it was changed some time back to all blocks are visible but not buildable (due to said frames) to make some of the behind the curtain stuff work better.

I just started this scenario but it seems all blocks are available (assembler, refinery etc.). I didnt make any change or added any mods, progression is disabled. Anyone know whats wrong or tell me what i can do to fix this?

I would love to see an "Apex Scrapyard Assertive Survival: Armageddon (or whatever the next step is after 'Impossible')" series, combining elements of all of your previous series. And I hope to see a video of the updates to the assets, as I always enjoys those.

Well I figured it out, Splitsie your brilliant! Using the frame component to make various blocks un-constructible. When you do add in the new DLC items could you also add in the blimp gas blocks and crashed airships? That would be a really cool addition. Love the work you do, keep it up. :steamhappy:

So how is the apex update going to work for this? Either the scrap spawns would need a big overhaul to be packed with supplies or algae tanks/farms added to them. Even still you'd need to constantly be finding new ones for how fast the food bar decreases. IMO just ungate the food production items since they're little more than a glass tank of seaweed and a box of dirt with water pipes.

We can craft complex computerized turrets yet a common air vent fan is mystical lost technology.

it seems the global encounters, npc encounters and drones settings messed with my world. i turned them off and deleted the related grids and all newly spawned settlements no longer have deletethisblock blocks.

Also of note, same problem with the original scrapyard and you drop in the new drop pod instead of yours....hope theres a fix.

Hello Splitsie! Love the mod but when I tried to start a new game I am not restricted in anyway regarding crafting of items i.e containers, refineries, etc. In short, it wont work, tried resubscribing and launching without any additional mods and get the same results....any ideas? So frustrated!

I tried the scenario version found scrap in short time, than I jumped back to this and found scrap again. Not sure it is related or this mod depends on that mod, but works fine now.

I subscribed to the mod and bought the Wasteland DLC, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right.

I restarted the map multiple times. Once I got random drops from the sky, which doesn’t seem like it should happen, and after six tries I still didn’t find anything for 30 minutes. I checked the cleanup setting (Alt+F10), and it looks fine. Not sure what’s causing the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you see a 'deletethisblock' that usually means your system is being pushed near its limit. We saw this a lot on the server whenever it was performance constrained with the number of grids present. Unfortunately there's not anything I can do about it and it's normally a sign you need to do some cleanup of things in the world.

spiders are already disabled in the scenario, so if you're getting attacked by them you might be using an older version and need to manually disable them yourself (or keen/MES breaks something with the setting even though I've disabled it)

I tried this with the Apex update, every 5 minutes or so, 10+ Saberoids come out of the ground and eat you. So please adjust those settings when you do the update. I've played through this scenario probably 10 times previously, and I quite enjoy it, but it's unplayable when eaten by spiders so often :)

@Splitsie question, what mod did you use for picking up block? i wanna add it to my personal survival world so that way its easier to transport blocks

I plan to update the scenario to include food, but first I plan to make new tutorials for the vanilla gameplay. Until that time I strongly recommend disabling food for scrapyard play.

The new DLC appears blocked correctly on my end Boose, remember to look at what components they require, not their presence in the G menu as I've made changes to how the blocking works.

@Wiking that's not entirely up to just @Splitsie because there's multiple Mods from different Mod Authors that make up this Scenario. All affected by v1.206 and v1.207 would need updating.

So out of curiosity. Is there somesort of tutorial for this pack? I started playing it and I see people on youtube picking up blocks but after I detach them I cannot figure out how to actually pick them up.

The change is for a few reasons, the old way would occasionally cause people who use controllers to crash their game and it required a manual update whenever keen introduced new variants of old blocks or even new blocks.

This method will automatically deal with new variants for the most part while having an added benefit of allowing projectors to be built, since you can't weld up something if you don't have the components.

The downside is that the G menu is full of a load of stuff you can't build and it's not easy to immediately tell that, but because I can't use progression (since then you wouldn't be able to repair unknown blocks) I think this is the lesser of 2 evils overall.

I noticed that too. But while you may be able to build everything but most of the exotic parts seem to call for something called 'construction frame' which grinds down into scrap. Never heard of that but it must be part of one of the mods in this pack that updated. Not sure I'm a fan of that change given the nature of scrapyard.

Does anybody know how to fix the build restrictions. when I reload my save i was just able build everything. I didn't change any settings or mess with the mod list til after the scenario was broken.

pretty fun. did a second save with the watermod on with a radius of 1.0015. was like 60/40 water/land. drove 3km underwater to a military barracks 90m deep.

anyway to increase the spawn rate of junk?

@CHAINY Keep in mind Splitsie didn't make every Mod that is part of this Scenario so we'd have to wait and see if all those Mod authors update their individual Mods.

I think this campaign may have some bugs from SE updates. Drove for nearly 2 whole hours and only found 3 scrap spawns. Lots of newer NPC bases spawning though which I'm guessing aren't supposed to be since they're absolutely packed with large grid blocks. Seems like the scrap spawns are being diluted by these.

I just started playing this scenario again, on a fresh SE install (running under Linux with Proton - not sure it's relevant) and... for some reasons there are no limitations, I can build everything, and the ruins are not loading.
