Hi Kalute, I was researching into these trains. I think JR East (Nagano) also runs 1000 and 3000 models coupled together as 6-car trains (likely can be any mix, i.e. 1000+1000, 1000+3000, etc.) See e.g. https://ameblo.jp/tc205-37/entry-12832324798.html?frm=theme - daily schedule by train - e.g #82 and #214 are the same, #156 and #160, #157 and #161, etc. Effectively they couple two trains in a depot, run them together for a day or a few days, then uncouple and they continue their own schedules.
