while alyx,freeman,kliner,barney,a rebel pilot,and a combine overwatch commander who had broken the mental conditioning were moving the body of eli to where he wanted to be buried there was a massive electrical disturbance (glados returning the borialis to its dry dock along with some dead rebels,combine,hunters,and a half dead mosman) caused the helichopter to crash and it fell through a floor into the facility below the upper offices and the crashing chopper ended up in the core production facility where they had died on impact followed by dog who had been chasing the heli, glados decided to turn the cadavers that she had found into cores and after scanning their memories and seeing what happened decided to leave their minds compleatly intact (the weird huge bastard thing that killed eli left the memories) and thats their story
