But oh my goodness gracious, the second or third laboratory room with the infinite-spawning enemies + broken door is rage-inducing. On Heroic, the larger melee forms one-hit-kill players at full HP. Combined with the infinite spawning (and needing to turn around to see how close the door is to opening & the infinite spawning being from multiple angles) it's nigh-impossible without cheesing the event.
It would be nice if that part could be tweaked. The rest of the level is very well-balanced & magnificent, so bravo!
Just that one part is a stark difference in difficulty that results in cheesing.
1) Not have the larger melee forms spawn,
2) Not have them be infinite,
3) Only have the smaller human forms be infinite,
4) Replace a health pack with an overshield,
5) Have an audible sound when the door's finished opening (and another sound to indicate it's stuck)
6) Have it be clearer if the player's accidentally pressed the button twice (and thus closed the door & restarted it)
7) Have a few of the lab subject storage units be knocked over to create cover, and
8) Have shotgun ammo in the area
video on how to fix mcc mods since this dev seems to be afk
The first half is pretty fun, but the second half with the slugmen is mediocre at best.
all in all its a decent experience and gets an 8/10 from me.
Is it fun. If it was 2006 I'd say yes. But it's not. View distance is abysmal, about 15 feet, but the flood can shoot from further. Nice. Also this mas has 2 colors. Grey, and brown-grey.
Neat map, but not a fun map
Survival-Horror works when its done well. The lack of health, enemies spawning behind you, lack of cover, lack of checkpoints, and...exploding flood(?) all make for a terrible and annoying experience. Difficulty can be done well with proper balancing, but this just feels like artificial difficulty.
Also you making the guard rails out of god damn lego pieces like I wouldn't notice.
