Okay, this is kind of embarrassing. First off, I think I'm having that "not reading shift key input" issue. Second of all, I watched the video and noticed the box lit up to a brighter shade when selected, so I know I was doing it wrong. Finally, while trying to find a fix for the shift key, I came across a guide that told me pretty much everything I needed to know, including some things I was gonna ask about somewhere else. Meaning if I had just looked around more I needn't have bothered you.

Nevertheless, thanks to you + the guide i found, I bet I can take it from here. Thank you for the help and for bearing with me.

Oh forgot to say if you're on Mac it might be Command Shift P

Okay, I'm really sorry. Like I said, I'm super dense with the editor. I've clicked on Turner, and I've tried clicking on the box which I can only assume I'm not doing properly. I've tried clicking the box outline and the smaller box on top filled with four X's. Whatever I do, when I press ctri shift P, all it does is bring up a color picker.

You spawn them in as normal but just click on Turner's box in the editor mode and hit CTRL Shift P to turn his box from green to white. This disables him as a player and only leaves Sonic so you can play as sonic only.

Out of curiosity, how and where are you supposed to control the mod characters? I figured out how to spawn a character, but I tried it in one of the Overgrowth story missions to have something to fight pre-added and when I add, say. Sonic, I either still control Turner with Sonic as another enemy or - through aimless random clicking - once managed to control both Turner AND Sonic... somehow.

I'm super dense when it comes to fiddling with the editor, so if I could trouble someone for a step-by-step explanation I'd really appreciate it. Apologies for any inconvenience.

me and ken jokingly talked about sonic.exe at one point, but yeah maybe sometime in the future.
