AE: I highly doubt it works that way :D He could have put in cookie monsters along the traderoutes instead of camels and ships, the economy wouldn't be based on cookies.

It's possible to increase the number of trade ships. I will consider the possibility to create a mod to do that.
I like your suggestion, but that requires a completely new model for the trade ships. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert on creating new models :(.

as a mere idea if you're modding lately... maybe put several ships together on the map (one icon moving), traveling together and make them less often ( to rep a fleet) I think you could use ONE base model so you HALF the effect on peoples computers but the appearance is improved? just an idea...
