This is just what i was looking for, the CM textures are very well done and really help spruce up an old game nicely. I do have one small bug (maybe) though, I noticed the citizen suitcases in Point Insertion become very reflective with these textures installed.

It replaces the half life textures in garry's mod. Because gmod primarily uses HL2 textures, this will replace most maps textures to these high resolution ones. Unless the map uses 100% custom textures

So I'm a little confused, does this replace the Half Life textures used in Garry's mod, or does it only change textures for the Half Life maps?

Adding the redone maps is out of my skill set, and as I understand, incredibly difficult. The way that Fakefactory sets up this entire mod is very weird, there is so much stuff that is required for this to work correctly, and I had to go through a lot of files to determine what was required and what wasn't. I have renamed the addon to reflect what it really does.

If you are looking for textures for props and such, those are already on the workshop, I found it to be redundant to upload them if they already exist. I made this because I didn't find an addon that changed surfaces. Unless those add-ons don't work anymore, use those instead.

there is no change to any models, there are no models. It's all textures of surfaces, such as walls, floors, ceilings, roads. No props are changed, no characters are changed, it's all surfaces

Well you've done it faster than me, but I'll make an archive of most FakeFactory's work as Gmod addons on workshop anyways.

That's actually where I got the idea for this addon, playing the MMOD version of CM. I realized that I could use these textures in other source games. I fully agree that Juergen did a really good job with texture and mapping work. But some of the choices are... questionable. I think the ridiculous amount of bridges and cranes are a bit crazy, Alyx and the dildo... the vulgar graffiti, just to name a few. But MMOD fixes most of that.

Y'know, cinematic mod isn't that bad as they all say

sure, it takes some of the charm that made Half Life 2 so unique from modern games, but at the same time, its amazing looking at the scenery, and see how more vibrant it looks, even if Half Life 2 wasn't meant for that.

CM Alyx can go die in hell, though. If you don't want unnecessary reskins for your favorite main characters and weapons, i suggest playing the Mmod version of it.

Man This Is Perfect For EVERYTHING

I may be able to add more textures now that i've broken it up into parts, the only parts that are really missing is nature textures (like trees, rocks, grass, sand) and skybox effects, I could upload these later. I don't think I'll do props because there is already some of that on the workshop
