Traits can get rearranged when the number of traits changes. Likely this happens when the main Faerun mod updates. It is best to keep a copy to play older saves.
The No Portrait mod does not contain any trait changes and shouldn't have this effect.

Sometimes when I play this all the characters will switch races, portraits and traits when i load up the save again. It completely destroys the save is that because of this mod or is it an issue with the main mod

glad you included this, most of the portraits disappeared in my game. I only have your mod activated currently

The last person to have this problem had an incompatible nicknames mod active.
