Charging more of them will still draw more energy. So saying that more of them will charge faster is just backwards logic. Setting 4 rotors in motion from a single powersource will still take longer than setting a single one in motion. The device may be built differently but physics still remain the same. more power = faster change, more components to charge means more power needed. so unless you also increase the power offered in relativity to the compulsators it WILL take longer.

And the idea was that each shot draws up 1 GW of energy, emptying the compulsators, but if you have more than minimum 4 it would have bigger energy pool and would be able to shot without recharging if you had, say, 8 of them.

Compulsators are specifically mentioned to power railguns, that's why I chose that name.

Pretty cool... and the way the functionality is described it mostly makes sense.
Just for technically correct description... it's called a capacitor not cumpulsator. They are also used in Photo flashes which basically means they are charged and can then (as your mass drive) quickly release a large amount of energy in a very short time.
One more thing though, your logic that more capacitors would mean a faster recharge time is backwards. It's like saying you need less time to fill 3 buckets with a hose than a single bucket using the same hose.

I Kinda hope this gets taken up and uses the same code as MA Lasers for the power generation, and the same code as the large railgun for the projectile. Although a particle beam like spinal weapons or MA Lasers (but potentially bigger!) would work too.
Accumulators could produce "charged particles", cables could carry said charge, and breach acts as the weapon itself. Without a barrel, it'd be nearly useless, but prefabbed barrel lengths could be various stages of upgrade block. There is even potential for various barrel types to change the beam type (instant laser, energy "hose", single high-damage pulse/bullet) or even engine nozzles running off of charged particle energy bus

@ToxicNova It's just not possible in the current state of SE modding.

Many more doors will need to be opened and LEFT OPEN by Keen in order for a mod of this caliber to be able to work the way it should.

Is there any way i can tweek this mod to make it more powerful for myself. I spent a few hours building a ship around this gun to only realize it only shoots through one armored block (I loaded it with a bunch of barrel parts as well):steamfacepalm:

Basically it should be very powerful, require significant charge time, and its power should be modular and dependent on its attached blocks. Certain blocks should be required for any functionality at all, while others would increase range/power/accuracy, etc.

He opened up his mods for anyone to work on, so anyone could take this mod and modify it to their taste as long as they link back to this workshop item and provide him credit.

That does not, however, mean that making this mod work is an easy fix. If it were, Darth would have already fixed it way back when.
