The special damage thing, tested and the only way to get 4k in 2 specials and still combo afterward is with with 9 meter and stacked full Freeze. Otherwise it's either lobby setting or character damage mod.
It's like what you said, but It's like you saw 1 clips and form your entire view around it without checking the actual move and complained base on your delusion. All your complains so far are pointless and just not how things work.
And well thanks for "balancing" comment, this type of steam public comment are mostly from salty people with inept idea on how the base game and character work so aside from clearing confusion when possible, none taken.
And don't get the op-ness because before or now the reward is a normal knockdown and minimal damage - compare to other method of reading grab or the cost of missing the counter is a full combo - this should've go without saying.
The complains so far are just really ignorant, lack sense of general balance and treat the moves as if they work in full capacity and guarantee the best reward on select all the time.
And counter drop immediately after the hit compare to normal grab read giving full combo. not really a wtf point, if you try to jab or short hop at rps range you win either way.

these options are built around vanilla characters, a number of characters from workshop might not have 1 or 2 crucial tools to stop one of his gameplan, in this case one can pray
