Anyone who prefers this mod to function differently is free to reupload it and make the appropriate changes. The creator of Vanilla+ has a modding Discord where plenty of modders, myself included, would be happy to help anyone.

Would you be willing to expand this by adding decoy/flare properties to Flare Gun Magazines/Fireworks launchers, so we've got countermeasures for guided rockets?

Ive discovered a painful catch 22 with this mod. With this mod IN drones get auto guided rockets which is good but you cant change targets or toggle guidance which is bad. Also handheld weapons are now guided no matter what and it cant be toggled in game which is bad. So ill have to figure out when i need the niche of all rockets guided all the time with no control or not. Is there anyway to seperate these things out?

Excuse me, but how can turret targeting be turned off now? The previous method no longer works, also the change to “UseTurretTarget = false” apparently does not work.

Yes. In the file AmmoDefinitions.cs, removing the text which says "TurretTarget" will disable guidance for all turrets, but leaving it for fixed weapons. I won't be doing that for this mod, but feel free to reupload it and make the change yourself. The file can be opened with any text editor.

Are you locking on to targets using the Target Lock functionality in a cockpit? Excluding raycast, that is the only way to make the missiles home onto a target.

Anyway I can make this so only a specific rocket launcher has tracking? I run a plane parts world with my friends and we want it so that the turrets don’t have tracking but block weapons do.

Been testing this in a survival playthrough, and can confirm these guided rockets are great for shooting down small grid ACS drones. Great job mate!

I'm grouping y'all together for a collective answer. All blocks that shoot the vanilla Rocket have guidance enabled, fixed and turrets. I have no clue if this works for handheld launchers, but I did enable raycast guidance, so it's possible just by pointing a launcher at something, but I haven't actually tested this.

Load order shouldn't matter. Vanilla+ will detect this mod's configs automatically. In the case of conflicting mods, I would remove either the conflicting mod(s), or this one.

Yes! Missiles guide and will visibly track on dedicated servers.

finally , i think that such a high cost of missiles in vanilla is due to the fact that they should be homing. there is no other point. now everything is in its place))) not even 10 years have passed)))))

@Patrick In terms of gameplay, it works the same way as Cython's mod. The differences are entirely under the hood; this mod uses Vanilla+ Framework, which guarantees compatibility with nearly every other mod using it, such as laser weapons, proximity-detonating shells, decoy flares, jump drive inhibiting weapons, and more.

@Manshima This mod makes vanilla rockets your definition of homing missiles.

In general missile nomenclature, "homing" refers to a group of different guidance methods generalized as "homing guidance," such as passive and active homing. Other forms of guidance exist, such as various forms of line of sight guidance, beam riding , and several others. As for this mod, the closest form is semi-automatic command off line-of-sight with the only manual requirements being to look at a target, and right-click to initiate lock-on.

It is Guided - player controlled, or is it Homing - follows the locked target as it moves? Very big difference.
