Hmm okay, well I'm glad it's working for you now. :)
What doesn't work specifically?
Update is now live, all changes are in the change notes.
Cheers!
I doubt you're alone in this though, with having more success with other weapons than the hammer.
I'm probably not the best player to ask this, as I do more modding than playing these days (modding takes a lot of time). Only tested this one with the hammer, as it made the most sense with the double bonus.
Haha thank you! I do feel the Hammer should be the most logical choice, I'm surprised and a little sad to hear it's not the best for him.
I appreciate the feedback!
There'll be another update soon, as I found a fix for the game crashing when you enter the shop with an anvil. Will also buff the character a bit.
Cheers,
Lex
Respect the commitment trying to make Hammer work with the double character bonus, its still an incredibly rough starter, don't think anything is going to end up saving the Hammer from itself haha.
-20% Materials and -50% Speed are also tough to deal with, the former more so from less levels gained and the latter forcing an even larger investment into Speed to get into that sweet spot necessitated by Melee builds.
Found the most consistent success with Shield starts, and also Engineering builds that happen to be less harsh on having a Speed deficit.
Thanks for the mod.
I've just released a small update, changes are in the change notes.
Cheers!
I suppose when you're doing 6 of the same weapons that have tier1 available, this might not do much for you. But I'm hoping this'll open up more diverse/viable gameplay/runs.
Thank you for the suggestions and the compliment. :)
My expanded critique would include:
-Flat damage to start does not scale well in later waves, maybe consider increasing damage by 10% instead of +5 damage
-Consider giving the weapons kit an alternate mode like anvil to increase melee damage per turn by +2 or such if it isn't used at the shop
This is an intriguing character. Good work on the concept!
Google translate the message to: Elite monsters dropping red chests and opening anvils will cause the game to crash
Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into this!
Well everyone plays this game differently, so it might not suit your playstyle.
For example, I'd like to be able to carry different weapons, without it being such a pain to upgrade them all. Or having to reroll a dozen times, just to find that last T3 weapon in the shop before wave 20.
The weapon kit being a rare, makes it more accessible than the anvil. It also doesn't have the restriction of only 1 upgrade per wave. It's more of a sure thing, compared to the rerolls. Ofcourse, for a price.
For example I can imagine it being good for upgrading t3+ only weapons. You no longer need as much luck to find a 2nd just to upgrade it.
I hope this gives you a little insight, ofcourse it's up to you if you want to keep it in your game. :)
Cheers,
Lex
Please explain the point of the blacksmith to me. In most of my runs I end up with 6 tier 4 weapons anyway.
I guess I can save some money on weapons utilizing the kit but starting with an anvil would have been great as well.
