Thanks for letting me know, I have found the problem - B42 translation files are encoded differently from B41. Not knowing this, I just copied them straight over.
I will try and get it sorted as soon as possible.

for the folks who play with the customizalbe helicopter events and the ones for playing on b41 with pvp and it would fit to the series cause its also a injury!

how many levels does it provide in total?

Yes it can be added to an already existing save, but the tapes will only spawn in newly explored areas unless you have loot respawn enabled.

Can it be added to existing save? No information in the mod info about this.

I don’t see why not - I’ve used both on a server before & seemed to work fine together.

Their mod adds extra ways to gain first aid xp & modifies how injuries function, whereas First Aid VHS Tapes simply provides a media source to provides xp when watching the relevant media. In fact, I would say both mods complement each other in improving the player’s first aid skill.

Of course, their mod adds new ways to deal with first aid injuries which, regarding lore, isn’t covered by the First Aid VHS Tapes media, although most people using this mod use it for the additional gain in first aid xp and not the “learning first aid mechanics” part.

Found the problem, getting it sorted.

cool mod on it's own but not sure about it being supported by named vhs skill tapes mod. I only see that it's a skill tape when I hover and see the "title" of the vhs. it isn't like the others where the name was changed into "[Carpentry].....". doesn't matter anyways since it's pretty obvious that it's the vhs tape because it's named "Medical something something.."I know it isn't your mod that is the problem but just saying..

@LoadedGodComplex, Accroding to the named VHS mod page, yes, First Aid VHS Tapes is compatible with Named skill VHS tapes.
Quote from their mod page:
"[named skill VHS tapes] must to run after any installed mods mentioned in the list above to ensure the skill-tag is applied."

is this compatible with named vhs tapes mod? (the mod that adds what skill the vhs is for in the name)

@Cabe, best way to check if the mod is installed correctly is to check the character's 'training materials' tab in the 'Player Info' panel. If you see "KY medical frontline" in the 'VHS' tab, it should be installed.

If it is installed correctly, the best place to find them would be VHS stores. They aren't super common, they get added to the pool of tapes that can spawn. alternatively, you may just simply be having bad luck :p

i've had this app for several months and yet i never see first aid VHS tapes. I see some books that come from other apps on reloading and working out........... nut i NEVER see an skill related VHS tapes of any kind. maybe i have another VHS app conflicting? I will look

dont suppose you'd be willing to make skill VHS tapes for Metalworking? its definitely one of the more painful skills to grind lol

Perfect! Lore friendly, functional, and sensible. I learned the principles of first aid through several training courses, without needing to actually tend a wound, so this makes a ton of sense. Many thanks!

for me, it was a mod. I was messing around with XP gain and accidentally fucked up, i correlated it with the mod, my mistake

@toofwess, @Snippykeegan, Can I ask what mods you are using? I've tested this in SP and MP and I receive the same amount of XP as the other skill tapes. Is it just these tapes you are experiencing high XP gain on? (post list in bugs section)

would it be possible to add a sandbox feature that reduces the amount of XP you get from these vhs tapes? seems a bit OP to me (at least for our server)

One of my characters spawned in a house with one of the tapes and got three full levels of medical in just a few minutes lol, i'm not sure if that's just a me problem or not tho

Just a idea- make it so that if the player is agoraphobic, they will get nauseous while watching !

@Ron, yes, it does work on a pre existing save, however, they will only spawn in areas where players haven't been (unless you have loot respawn enabled).

@v8o1, these are retail VHSes, you will find them at VHS stores (and I think home shelves) basically anywhere a normal retail VHS tape should spawn! You should be able to find multiple per world, if you’re lucky :)

Are they considered retail VHS or home VHS? i ask because more than 1 retail VHS can exist but home VHS can only spawn once. I'm hoping this doesn't end up like how i can never find the basic gun handling tape because that is a home VHS
