This is theoretically a good addon but like the person below is saying, please enable the smoothing so the fences don't look so jagged. Not even the in-game anti aliasing fixes this.

$allowalphatocoverage "1" should be used so smooth edges are enabled on the fences while still keeping the shadows.

the fence now doesnt make any shadow, is it because of the recent updates? or my graphical settings? (very high) or should i move the mod to be the first one to load? :steamsad:

The mod probably changed the fence's model and this mod only work on vanilla fence

@7ᴇᴍᴘᴇsᴛᴲ Because I'm subscribed to the following L4D2 mods, https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=312294075&searchtext=Left+4+Dead+2+REMASTERED , and https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2365490433 , I don't see the Fence Cast Shadow mod working on my end. Even though the three of them work and don't conflict with each other within my add-on inventory. With this mod of yours VERY high above them in it. I just wanted to bring this to your attention, mate.

melee weapon has flashlight attachment at 90 degree so the shadow is covered by the mesh you're looking at
other weapon has flashlight at an angle so the shadow is more visible

I noticed one strange thing; When I switch from a main weapon to a melee weapon, the shadows disappear. Only with melee weapons, the rest is ok.

GOD DAMN IT Valve, after investigating Dead Air I found out that there are mutiple vmt of "fence_alpha" that exist in like 3 different folder for NO reason because they point to the same texture
Updated the mod so the Dead Air fence should have shadow now

Catmaxxing flashlight can render textures off of grass, leaves and other flat mesh models, this shadow was in HL2 but probably for optimization's sake they've disabled it for L4D

i always assumed this was just due to the chainlink part of the model being a flat wall, kinda surprised you can do this with vmt fixes.
