This mod can be used for any campaign. But the improved battle formations only affect the vanilla factions.

Found some answers:
- Seems to work with modded maps since its battle based only.
- Yes AI behaves better... to what extent? (to be seen)
- to be used with vanilla only since the creator made a mod called "Rome Extended" which by default already has this mod embedded.
- Seems it effects only campaign Battles

For those that see this and have used the mod. what differences have you noticed? what is your personal experience? thanks

i have a custom/modded map for campaign since this only effects in battle formations... does this still work?

- will the AI behave better than the original game?
- why does the icon or pic have the words "Rome Expanded" when in description you say NOT to use with "Rome Expanded"
- Does this also effect skirmish battles from main menu or only in campaign?

What I did instead is to disable the "AI-Improvements" when starting a new campaign. Then it is more tame like it was in the original.

Sometimes it feels too tame, but it also isn't as psychopathic anymore.

@Nevermore This mod is solely focused on battle AI and does not influence or affect campaign AI.

Also, Feral rewired the AI to be more aggressive to the point of betraying allies at times. One way to prevent this is to keep full garrisons in the cities bordering your allies/vassals/trade partners.

Could you do something about the Anti-Player Bias or tell me how to find the AI files that govern the AIs behavior towards the player on the campaign map?

I constantly get attacked by every neighbor I have. And right now one faction sent a diplomat to my city to make a trade agreement and then besiege one of my cities. Like this, the AI is completely untrustworthy which makes any kind of diplomacy worthless.

Battle AI does not affect pirate or brigand spawn rates.

Did this mod add Rebel Pirates or change how they behave? I have never seen many Rebel pirates before, but now they pop up everywhere.

If so, I do like to see them more often. Actually gives my fleets something to do.

I like barbarian invasion a lot so this would be pretty neat, but that's only 2 people out of the 100 you need lol

@The Great Noldini I haven't thought about modding BI or Alexander. If there were enough people (like 100+) who wanted this ported to BI/Alexander, I could do it. But wouldn't do it as a one off.. :)

Will there be a version that comes for Barbarian Invasion and Alexander? I really like the mod btw, it greatly improves the vanilla experience

@The Great Noldini The different AI personalities are set for vanilla factions. If you use any mods that change the descr_sm_factions.txt, then you would have to change the value of the "default battle ai personality" to use the relevant battle AI.

@val.lim.tine Yes. The battle AI does not care about specific units. But this mod is made for VANILLA factions, so any new factions would receive the benefits of the battle AI mod (without manual modifications)

How do you choose the different AI personalities? Is it done automatically, or are there settings I need to adjust in game?

Hi! Will the new battle AI be able to properly use units added by other mods? For example, I am using Danymok's Rosters Expanded. The units the mod adds are intended to be vanilla friendly, so I am hoping there will be no issues with the new AI and those units?

If converting it is this easy why didn't you do it? You did tag it under Barbarian Invasion and Alexander after all, this implies it works by default.

No... My Rome Expanded mod does that though. Changes AI recruitment to use higher tier troops (when available) and adds general/mercenary recruitment for the AI.

does this mod change how the ai recruits its armys the base game ai is garbage and oftern recruits 5 stacks of trash instead of 1 or 2 good armeis

@CoffeeMaus This is currently only compatible with Rome. But it can easily be made compatible with Barbarian Invasion and Alexander by modifying the descr_sm_faction file to reference the new battle AI personalities.

Updated to be compatible with vanilla Rome Remasterd. Added in the 121 custom AI battle formations so that the AI is not only better at determining when to fight, but also better at how it fights.
