I will definetely try experimenting with APS but making it realistic or even effective is pretty hard especially with the sensors we have in game currently, they're just too slow to detect a projectile among other problems, but if I figure it out I'll def use it in a build

what about the T-14 Armata, he built it with an APS why not try to make it better, try attaching it with the other tanks just think about it would be much better to look at it and its realistically to have an working active protection system, which would have something special in its kind of build.
