@Khitiara Yeah, sorry, I worded it poorly. The idea is to have the recolors only activate if the player has More Beams installed. No More Beams, no beam recolors.

@RumikoTheFox I dont have any issue with you making recolors of our beams, as long as you credit our mod. In theory you could also only enable recolors of our beams if the mod is installed but I dont have any personal objections to the idea in general anyway.

I'm currently working on a recolor mod for vanilla furniture sets. Would it be alright to make recolors of the beams for the recolor sets (I wouldn't include the originals from your mod, obviously, and would point people toward this mod to get the original colors for the beams and give proper credit)? There's a chance I may not finish my mod because adhd brain is a real problem, but I wanted to ask in case I somehow manage to finish this lol.

Might be an issue with Spirit Reforged, but occasionally, worlds fail to generate with it and this mod enabled.

I think it did natively support resource packs in 1.3, but I'd be surprised if it came back for 1.4.4 or 1.4.5.

ah yeah. I dont want to add a hard dependency so will not be using Syla's. I had been under the impression that TML already supported resource packs directly, though evidently not.

@Khitiara I want to say that they're possibly referring to another mod in a very early beta where it allows you to add resource pack compatibility, but it's a hard requirement so I'm not sure how many users would be willing to install another mod just to play this one for a feature they may not use.

@Yuki 雪 your issue seems to be due to other mods crashing, and this mod just gives an error on unload. Ill upload a fix for the unload bug soon anyway though

Hi, I'm trying to get into Terraria but it's giving me a loading error, it says about: "MoreBeams was unable to unload properly. Mod developers should use defensive programming to ensure the unload completes regardless of any errors during loading.

The Titanstone column seems a bit glitchy. If you put three columns right next to each other, the top of a column to the side may just disappear. It doesn't happen for just two columns next to each other, though; and none of the other beams and columns had this happening.

I'm not sure why (cause I now have it turned off) but it seems that this mod is causing tModLoader to constantly crash. It cites something about "Modders need to use defensive programming" to prevent crashing.

I've made a github issue to TMod for adding better support for switch anchoring on beams so hopefully that'll be added eventually

@halmska that doesnt actually work for placing switches on the beams - the alternate anchors for switches etc allowing them to place on beams are hardcoded arrays that the detour is the cleanest way to override

It seems like you're detouring "OnTileObjectDataOnIsValidAlternateAnchor" for some reason, and that was causing a conflict with an upcoming subworld's worldgen of my mod, im not sure why you'd need to do this since this mod just adds beams, if you're doing that because you don't know another way to do beam anchoring, putting TileID.Sets.IsBeam[Type] = true; in the beam's SetStaticDefaults should be all you need

you can paint your beams using your choice of paint and either use the paint sprayer or a paint brush to apply the paint.

@Skulgan you make a good point, will look into it - we already adjusted the dynasty and spooky beams anyway and already have things set up to convert old into ancient versions with shimmering when we change beam textures

I think the stone beams are currently a bit too bright and hard to distinguish from actual wall - most beams tend to be a bit darker than their actual base material to better blend into the wall as opposed to the blocks. Just a suggestion if you have any plans on updating the sprites. Other than that, this mod is really cool! Would love to see support for modded woods.

@It's A Vee! marble and granite are already in vanilla actually! slab might be a good idea we might look into that one. also looking at possibly updating dynasty and/or adding new dynasty variants
