"Steel slag itself is not changed as far as functionality goes, just the description, label, and textures. Any recipe or mod using slag chunks should still function the same" glad to read that, great mod

I did test in a vanilla + dlc only save as well as a mod-heavy save with no errors or issues, so if you do have a problem let me know here!

Updated to 1.6
Changes:
- Wall lights now use the vanilla system to snap to walls
- Increased the work amount for most crafting recipes - not enough to be a burden, just closer in line with vanilla. All crafting recipes are still less work than their vanilla counterparts.
- Removed dds textures that were created with RimPy since some users using Graphics Settings+ can no longer load these. To replace, use dds conversion in RimSort

This mod is absolutely fantastic! One of my new favourites, it adds so much flavour and a lot of the weapons are surprisingly useful. I've found myself using the saw with Sanguophages quite a lot since it makes them very good at locking down enemy pawns in the backline.

I have a suggestion, its not weapon I see used in post apocalyptic media often, but it is the simplest homemade gun
2 pipes
put them together with a shotgun shell inside
then you have a homemade slam-fire shotgun

Updated to 1.5!
The main change is that the game apparently hates the idea of crafting items from slag only, so certain weapons now also have a steel cost. To offset this, I have added a function to crafting spots to smash slag into 5 steel- far less effective than smelting but allows even tribals a non-mining way to obtain steel.

Please let me know if anything is amiss. I am still working on transferring the wall lamps over to the new wall lamp style with snapping, for now they function the same as they did in the previous version.

Hey, working on it. It 90% works but a couple recipes are not, and I am trying to work out why. The modding tutorials are not updated for 1.5 so I'm doing some trial and error stuff. Should be good for a 1.5 release Sunday.

Hello, I've been using Adaptation refusal together with this mod and some of its recipes require slags

is there a way you could make both mods compatible or just instead of replacing every slag drop, you make it so we use slags to salvage scrap metals?

Hey, apparel is planned. I'll do some balance testing with the turret too. As far as the weapons not being created goes, someone else said they had the same issue but I haven't been able to duplicate that in vanilla or with my mod list. Can you see if there's any error firing when this happens?

What a great mod! But please make turrets not require power and add some apparel please! Also some weapons do not seem to be created at the bench and resources are wasted...

I didn’t try a weapon, but apparel at the tailoring bench will not produce any output if it’s not at 100%. So if you try to recycle some boots for example that are 50% it won’t work, but if those boots are at 100% it breaks them down just fine and you get the resource the boots are made from. Once I removed your mod, it worked fine and I could break anything down regardless of the HP % of the item. Thank you for checking it out, I really love the lamps you have in your mod, just perfect for a scrapper play through.

I'll take a look at what could be the issue. Just to be clear when you try to recycle a weapon with that mod its not producing any output when the weapon isn't at 100%?

Just to confirm, I removed your mod and Mend and Recycle mod worked fine again. Any chance of a compatibility patch? Love your mod and would like to continue to use it as well. Thank you.

Love the mod, however it looks like it's not compatible with Mend and Recycle mod. Seems to break the recycle option and you can only recycle stuff that's 100% HP.

If you turn on Dev Mode in the Option menu, if you do the action it might trigger an error in the log and auto-open. Or you can click the left-most button on the dev bar at the top of the screen to open the log. Since this is entirely in XML right now I imagine it should throw in error there. https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Development_mode

I don't know how to get error logs, but I assume its a mod conflict of some kind. I have a mod that speeds up crafting speeds, so maybe thats it. But if I can figure out how to get error logs, I'll post it.

For some reason when I use the crafting spot to make scrap weapons, the material is consumed but the weapon isn't made. The bill doesn't even go down if I have them numbered.

Scrap bed, despite what it says, is literally worse than sleeping on the floor, actually. 75% for a normal quality scrap bed, 80% rest effectiveness for sleeping on the floor.

@gazza_m_bolton There's no interaction with the Scavenger ideology in Alpha Memes currently, though that may be an idea if there's some way I can think of to connect them. The Vanilla Ideology Expanded Scrapper meme works with this mod, and all scrap furniture is counted as junk that pawns with Scrapper like.

Yes! The scrap still functions like slag. The recipe for smelting to produce steel is unchanged.
