is it possible to heavily nerf the last idea in administrative ideas? the new taxes one. in my games, it seems to be heavily weighted for nations to use this, and the extra 12 monthly tax they gain allows 26 dev nations to field 25 troops by 1480. in my most recent game the command had entirely ceased to exist by this time due to every neighbour choosing this idea group. it kinda ruins part of the game when you can easily tell which nations will get on top based on whether they chose admin or not.

In the Azkare/Sunrise empire the mission Western Wall cannot be completed due to adjacent fort penalty disabling the ability to build ramparts for the forts on the provinces of Nasavan(4548) and Shekivad(4444).

Aristocratic Ideas has a weird and broken behaviour. After selecting it, I frequently and repeatedly get the notification that the idea group has been selected, and any filled out ideas are reset.

Ran into the problem on an old save with Anbennar + Monuments + Homebrew, but have tested and it also happens on a fresh save with only current version of Anbennar + Homebrew

In my game the AI ist not exploring the "new world". They have unlocked expansion and explo but their explorers are just sitting in reserve while their colonists are promoting dev in their homelands. Its 1600 and nobody explored anything yet.

Don't mean to tell you how to do things, but you might want to rename Theocraitc ideas from "aristoX", I think it will avoid a lot of headaches in the future :D

I suspect you might be already working on this from what I can see but I'll bring it up anyway because this bug wasn't happening last night, but I'm having an issue where the aristocratic idea group is repeatedly being "unlocked" and reset. Hi, not playing with HB right now, but my mates told me that update has not fixed issue with Idea Variation.txt. They reinstalled my fix (which I made for them once @Ae Ti researched this bug) and game started working fine. I guess you haven't cleaned all off IV obsolete code causing this issue.

I've updated again, since I've found some broken things (did you know that trade power wildcard never worked? I didn't) and internally renamed heroism ideas to mercenary ideas to be able to trigger merc event with heroism ideas and to be simply even more in line with base anbennar (this either doesn't affect current saves, or might cause them to crash, 50/50 ) , but still none of them should be able to entirely crash game
I'll be able to let loose observer game during night, so If anybody still get crashes before that, gimme that pastebin

Welp, I've ran game on observer till 1700 without a single crash, but it was only Anbennar + Silvertaped
It might be just thank's to that, Sakul never emerged but it's still weird that some random country would make entire game choke
Anyway, I've got 100k lines of error log to scavenge for HB stuff so if any of you get crash again, just send me your error log throught pastebin or something + which mods you have enabled with HB so I'll know on which setup I have to check what's wrong

After doing some painful binary searching, I found out the culprit to be Sakul in the Sarhal region. They got released and probably them choosing a government reform broke the game, maybe swapping government form, I didn't dig deeper than that. I just made a neighbor annex them and the game doesn't crash anymore. Hope this helps.

Keeps crashing around the first month of 1496 (playing as a nation in lake fed). Skipping date or white peacing all global wars don't work. Switching to Doge's ideas mod does avoid the crash. Would like to see this fixed as I prefer this mod over Doge's.

Don't worry too much, I doubt many people are playing on that bitbucket version as it is not the main bitbucket branch and especially in combination with Homebrew Silvertaped. Besides it was easy enough to fix once you know what to do, thanks @-bZ-MasterLuke

You will also need to add the experience modifiers for higher adm, dip, mil skilled rulers, it should be, "ruler_adm = {

@KVFDAbel, it is possible to get Silvertaped working with the magic rework. You have to download WinMerge and compare the two 00_static_modifiers files: one from Anbennar and one from Silvertaped.

Silvertaped is found "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\236850\3105283657\common\static_modifiers" somewhere like here

Anbennar is found "C:\Users\Username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod\Anbennar-PublicFork\common\static_modifiers" somewhere like here

Using WinMerge open both files and copy the new magic statistics from the Anbennar file. It will look something like, " #Anbennar magic system

I'm playing with the new magic reworks and it worked perfectly beforehand however today I get no mana generation anymore and after testing it sadly seems to be caused by Homebrew Silverforged. Any idea on what could fix this? Much appreciated, love the work

Crashes like crazy in the 1500s now. Started a campaign with my GF and after having to reload to checkpoints 15 times or so due to various crashes it eventually became unplayable during a war in 1560, crashing consistently on the same month 4 times in a row.

We had to swap to doge's anbennar ideas. required only extremely minor save editing, the transition actually worked pretty well, probably because both mods use the same base mod in The Idea Variation. But it's still a bit of a shame as I generally prefer homebrew ideas. I hope things get fixed.

By the way,to fix the impressment offices that are STILL bugged,you just need to remove that one } you added for some reason at line 4398 of "00_buildings.txt"

Ah yes, I've changed these names, because these were inheritend from idea variation, and it caused some events to not fire properly, seems that somehow that 1 line was avoided while "mass renaming". Thank you @Ae Ti, I'll update tommorow, or rather today-later

@Ae Ti 27 instances have been replaced and well it worked. So anyone having an issue with this problem this is how to fix it. The directory will probably start differently depending on where you got steam. But until the author updates this here you all go.

Then you quite simply do a Find and Replace (usually accessed with Ctrl+H)

"aristo0"

with

"theocracy_gov_ideas"

Without quotation marks, of course.

How exactly did you change it. is the file the one in this folder "Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\236850\3105283657\events" I found Idea_variations.txt in that folder. But I'm not the best with PCs.

After some more brute-force testing, I found the problem event - it's the 5th (3rd to last), the event for changing governments from monarchy to republic/theocracy.

After a bit more digging I realised the problem: Theocratic ideas was referred to as "aristo0", while the actual name of the idea group is "theocracy_gov_ideas" - this caused the game to kill itself when an AI switched from Monarchy to Theocracy.

Changed it, now it works without a hitch!

I'm also crashing around the 1550s. I've noticed it only crashes on the pulse event dates, which leads me to believe that crash is due to a idea group event.

Great mod, but all my games keep crashing around 1540-160ish. Sometimes it helps to reload a few years ago, but this is not a optimal and reliable solution.

I'm consistently crashing at around 1560 playing as Asarta - tried disabling every other mod (graphical, monuments) to no avail, however turning Homebrew off seems to have done the trick. It's very clearly the AI doing something funky, as if I turn off AI using the console, the game runs without a hitch.

The main mechanic-heavy mods I'm using are Homebrew and Dwarven knowledge (I'm aware of the outdated patch, but I'm only using the tech part that lets me have more idea groups)

I know this is not much to go on, but I'll gladly help if I can some way, really don't want to restart my game (or play without Homebrew :P)

Also massively appreciate the work you're doing, especially this quickly after the new update! :steamhappy:

The Impressment Office bug is caused by a misplaced { on line 4396 in the 00_buildings.txt file. It should instead be placed between the two modifier scopes, at lines 4354 and 4355.

You can find the file at: <STEAM_PATH>\steamapps\workshop\content\236850\3105283657\common\buildings\00_buildings.txt

Until Anscylla has time to update the mod, you can manually fix the file by editing it in a text editor.
