I am working on remodeling and replace the portrait of all generic generals right now, I planned on making an event mod trying to replicate something similar to nemesis system in shadow of war after I am done with remodel and stuff. It would be cool if I could commission some portrait to fill up the generic general variants

Why make this if it is not compatible to MTU. I want all the characters in my campaign at once

Yes it's been updated and I forgot to trim the text data. It's now updated again and hopefully fixed. Try updating it and check again.

I am aware of both those options. The problem is that in this case it doesn't really work. I'm not creating a new character. Lü Ji already exists and she's already got her own ceos. Which leaves me with 2 options:

1) I delete the existent character and make "Lü Ji" again but it's a totally new character from scratch (this would still mean the armour design would be limited to the armours available in 8p)

2) I use her default ceos and leave her as a generic general without custom armour

I won't accept either.

One way you can make her work w/o custom ceo is to use a title/unique hero from 8P

Because no one really play that campaign anyway, that's a pretty popular way nowaday to make a new hero.

but keep in mind, this trick has been used by a lot of mods. TROM reused pretty much all eight princes, the current popular mod of the month, Hua Ling, used Sima Ying.

One other way is to make her a semi-generic, where she has a unique ceo, a unique portrait but not a unique model and can equip generics armors. That one is a bit trickier but has more chance of compatibility if you only use the semi-unique ceos from 8P (heroes from 8P with unique titles but are treated as generics like Princess Qinghe in that campaign)

It should be possible, I suppose. You'd just have to delete the campaigns folder from the mod. You'd probably have to restructure the art folder too because I think she'd cease to be a "unique" character (although maybe not, if the MTU mod does that for her as well so maybe it still works?). This is all assuming the MTU version is built the same way as mine. If the MTU version of the mod is not referring to the same character entity on the tables then none of it will work.

Just try it out: delete the campaigns folder from the mod and see if it works. If it doesn't then the mods are fundamentally incompatible and the mod would need a complete rework to work with MTU. Just for the record, I still believe it's a bad idea even if it works. I think even the art on the MTU version is a better fit for use with the MTU cast, for obvious reasons. But feel free to do whatever.

Is there a way to make this be a reskin only version? Because I believe a reskin higher in the load order will overridethe MTU version of her; which I am not a huge fan of.

If you like the MTU characters then I agree that this is a horrible trade off. Not only are you trading a million characters for one, but you're probably not gonna like the one you get much either since she's relatively weak and toned down compared to, for example, the already existing MTU version of Lü Ji. The point is this mod is made for people who DON'T like the flashier MTU designs. That being said, the fact that this uses custom ceos and is therefore immediately incompatible with a ton of other great mods is unfortunate, no question, but I don't know how to make it without using custom ceos, to be frank.

It looks great but if incompatible with MTU or TUP then it serves no purpose unfortunately. Trading out hundreds of unique characters for 1 is not a decent trade in any sense.

Thanks for the hint. I'm sure she's of some significance if CA decided to put her in the game, I just meant "pointless court filler" in a gameplay sense when there's no reason ever to use her and I end up always just getting rid of her anyways. I figured might as well remove her from the start. But I appreciate that it may bother some people removing characters like that.

Great work! I like the artstyle a lot, quite close to the original TW3K look. One point of note though: Lady Yan, the one you believed to be a court filler, is Lu Bu's wife in Romance of the Three Kingdoms and likely the mother of Lu Ji. She was the one who convinced Lu Bu to not follow Chen Gong's plan when they were being sieged down in Xiapi by Cao Cao and Liu Bei, and thus doomed any chance of their victory. If you want to follow the ROTK novel as closely as possible, she should be in his roster

But that's the Romance story. Historically, we know Lu Bu was married but there is no recorded name for his wife or consorts. So I guess it doesn't really matter.

No, the mod alters the starpos files. Only works on a new save WITH the mod installed.

Is it compatible with old save?

She doesn't "spawn" anywhere. The mod only changes the already existing character which starts as Lü Bu's child heir in 194. Meaning the way to get her you either start as Lü Bu or you acquire her as you would without the mod.
