An apex told my kitsune character that their species aren't so dissimilar, maybe their kind could even fall in love. :SisterHappy:

Lovely mod though, added this to my modpack to spice up the gameplay a little and add a bit of immersion.

@Nefuki
I've been thinking about this more, and I may attempt to tackle it.
If I'm successful, it'll be a separate mod.

One thing I would wish was possible (but would probably require tweaking the conversation scripts) was a blend between this mod and the vanilla system. The idea is, making the NPC have the dialogue add a set of arrays that contain a group of multiple strings, then the NPC would store a value of which array it wants to use as some form of "dialogue personality". That way, the script would pick a random line from the array in that index every time it is interacted with, giving you a more consistent personality on the dialogue. You could have a set of lines for those that don't trust strangers in an array, then in another array, it could have a set of lines of a personality that loves outsiders. That way, you could have a NPC that consistently says welcoming stuff, or distrustful stuff.

@ajarylee_old
"It's a singular patch file that allows NPCs, vanilla OR modded, to shift through their available dialogue lines instead of only repeatedly saying one."
Vanilla NPCs select one dialogue out of many and stick to it, no matter how many times you talk to them. This mod changes that.

I feel confused... I'm pretty sure that NPCs already say random lines. Did this change at some point?

So.. why did you Join the Stormcloaks?
Spectreblitz 18. dec. 2023 kl. 5:34
@Kronolos in the old fort near Riften, might consider joining up myself

@Duke Monterier
Maybe some day...but probably not from me lol.

@Foslix
Well, I thought of one of my own: False Harpies. The NPCs you can come across can sometimes mention how they miss their family. And then they'll specify... Because of vanilla only choosing one line, it makes it significant and unique to the NPC.

@Juni
I realize that - as my own race mods do the same thing.

@kagura bachi
Indeed! Thank you! :demonsheep::rtrheart:

this is such a simple mod yet is also provides so damn much!!!!
Juni 25. nov. 2023 kl. 5:46
While this is probably great for vanilla species dialogue, when used with race mods that rely on NPCs picking a single line to express attitude diversity towards said species - it may cause some NPCs to feel borderline scizophrenic sometimes :)
Foslix 24. nov. 2023 kl. 22:08
If a modder has various lines referring to either a wife, husband, girlfriend, or boyfriend, the NPC may shift through all of these lines ? what mod
Duke Monterier 22. nov. 2023 kl. 21:29
Well, that's a step to have some sort of relationship immersion with NPCs. Hope that we soon get some sort of relationship system or even chat GPT to chat with them.
SENPAI!! 21. nov. 2023 kl. 7:25
Holy moly...

@Random Dev
Glad to hear it! :steamthumbsup:

@AstraAegis
Same here! Who knew it was as simple as a tiny lil' patch for one singular file?
And thank YOU so much for your kind comment! :rtrheart:
AstraAegis 19. nov. 2023 kl. 13:29
Fantastic. This is something I have wanted out of starbound NPCs for a long time! Thanks for your hard work even with your busy schedule, me and many others I'm sure appreciate it!

Finally my dream come true

@0A0
I've been "back" with modding for a bit - it's just that the update I'm working on (for an already released mod) is taking a LONG, LONG time! I'm busy nowadays and only get 6-8 hours per week to work on mods. But hey, I'm getting somewhere, rather than nowhere! :demonsheep:

@tigerfestival1988
Indeed! :steamthumbsup:
tigerfestival1988 18. nov. 2023 kl. 19:48
Nice. This should give the NPCs some life rather than repeating the same repetitive one liners again and again.

Thank goodness you're back!:mbnecodown:
