So about the addition to the psionics category... I would have liked to do that, but there is a big issue with how the special psionics species traits are setup. By simply adding my portraits to the category, you'd see them there, but in order for them to be able to use the category specific traits I'd have to overwrite the basegame entries of every trait provided by the category since those name the applicable portraits directly... As I won't do this, there is little reason to add them to the category without them profiting from the trait availability.

That's a good point, they lack the evolution gimmick though, but maybe that isn't such a big dealbreaker.

if you are to update this to 4.1, the Chadorian style would be great as a psionic portrait codewise, especially wince all the psionic portraits are mix species-type :er_uwu:

With this kind of mod you can atleast easily check if it does work, but I do remember there were a few minor changes that might lead to issues. If you start it with that version though and the portraits get shown on empire creation you should be good, if not deactivate it for that version.

My friend made a mod pack for us and I seriously thought these were new official portraits added in 4.0
They are absolutely amazing!!

I installed the mod and checked it out, and for a moment, I mistook it for an official portrait. I had to come back and double-check if it was really a portrait added by the mod. Your mod truly deserves an award.:steamthumbsup::steamthumbsup:

I never cared enough about Stellaris achievements to look into it, but I assume the scripted effect overwrite, which links the robots to the normal portraits is what changes the checksum, could be wrong though.

@Pury Correct. The latest Stellaris update reintroduced the modular way of adding portraits to existing entries, so there is no more need for compatibility patches just as it was before Machine Age.

Thank you for reminding me. I pushed the update a bit too long before my feet and nearly forgot to do it. Your custom empires with these portraits should now spawn, but as mentioned with the drawback that randomly generated empires may use them as well. I hope this issue will be fixed in the future, but there is little I can do at the moment.

@Muffin It appears that the randomizable setting does not exactly do what the documentation says. According to it, setting it to no should prevent the portrait to be used for a randomly generated empire, but it seems it also blocks it from being force spawned as a custom empire... Given that I'll have to make the portraits available for randomization so they can be force spawned. Less than ideal, but there seems to be no other way.

Not understanding, no matter what i try they will not spawn with "Forced Spawn" Enable on a custom empire i made... This nor the ones in More Events.

Chadorian envoys currently use the ruler skin which makes it a lot more common that it probably should be. Probably a oversight for not specifying "leader_class = envoy" Im guessing?

So the time has come. The Chadorian variations have been finished and the mod is now updated. There is just a minor issue with the leader menu not updating the look of the commander, once he gets the commissioner or general subclass. In all other places it does show up correctly though and after a save and reload it will also be correctly displayed in the leader menu.

@paulo It's only one portrait that was initially only intended as a paragon portrait. Wait a bit, until Derega has finished the additional variations and give it another look then. He's already workin on it.

These portraits are so well done I straight up thought they were part of the 3.9 update. I didn't even realize they came from the MEM mod until I played a vanilla MP game and went to pick the gray aliens but couldn't find them :(
