@Shavy It changes a value in the xml database, which means you should have no problem with saves, however I cannot predict how the ai will utilize this mod. They should be able to use it. It affects yourhappiness only in hte matter of the increased number of cities and if too many really close cities are built, they wont have enough workable tiles to work with. The restrictions for settling should follow whether the mod is activated or not. If you find it too op, feel free to not use it or modify it as it is a really simple mod and you should be able to find where the limit of 1 tile is set.

Went as Rome (+25% production to buildings already constructed in capital) with this mod. Named my capital "The Hive" and started building a hive mind of cities, naming each and every one of them "The Cluster", "THe Cluster", "ThE Cluster", etc. Had around 50+ cities when I reached the Modern Era, and got to choose my Ideology. Chose Order and adopted the tenant "Socialist Realism" (+2 Local Happiness from Monuments). My empire's happiness skyrocketed from 20 to 132 in the blink of an eye.

Is there something in your mod against population unhappiness ? and if yes, can you tell me how to change that ? (I have 43cities and 0 pop unhap but -70 from cities, as I play with Revolution mod, having unhappiness can be fun too !) Thanks.

Why would you want to have close cities, wouldn't that reduce the amount of possible ownable tiles?

@twilliams167 I dont know why it doesnt work. Maybe there are some problems between the different mods you use and this one. If another mod changes something that my mod also changes, it wont work. Else, if may be a problem in the decompiling of the mod, so you can try to reinstall it.

Are there any conflicts you know of? I had this mod working on Yaemp until today when I got two new mods from JFD, Iceland and Great Britain. I'm not sure why it won't work anymore even though it shows up in my mods list and I can still select it. Any suggestions on how to get it to work again?

In response to Bob Billy Bi.... I don't think the intentions were for you whole civ to be like what is suggested in the description screenshot. But I have for sure ran into instances where I would have liked to settle because of resources but it was not within the limits. One specifically was due to another CityState too close and the only options were to settle on a resource.

how does this affect the food needed to sustain the city? because normally you need a lot of farm tiles to grow later in the game, and with the city distance reduced, woudlnt that affect the number of tiles you can work for each individual city?

Sorry for not answering before now. I was on vacation.

@Thorcdt Idk why it doesnt worked with you. Normally you should activate this mod the same way as any mod. If it doesnt show up in you mod list, it may be a problem that happened in the decompiling phase of the .civ5mod file. I suggest you go in your mod folder and look if there is .civ5mod file with the name of the mod, and if there is one, just delete it, unsubscribe than subscribe again. It should work.
