Essentailly, i do like the mod, but i would more like it if it had a (Fan or Official) Fan retexture patch to make it look more vanilia Like

This is pretty cool, maybe when the AI F I N A L L Y starts to use vehicles, these could be common among pirates and outlanders

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! Updates'll be slower from here on out since I'm working on other things, but I'll try to keep on top of any bugs (on that note - feel free to check out Creepy Things, dependent on VFEI2).

Regarding the ideas, sadly I'll be limiting implementation of more mechanoid/biotech-dependent content going forward (for the nomad-ish playthrough, maybe check out [AV] Mechanoid orbital traders). While I love mechanoids as a concept, the intention of this mod is to make vehicles that everyone can find a use for (a bit difficult with the Selkie/Siren, slowly working on it), and that includes DLCs/mods: the fewer dependencies, the better.

On an aside note, I really should've implemented some kind of flame weapon at this point. Maybe I'll co-opt shredder munitions...

I hope you'll keep developing this, in fact.

I wonder, would you be interested in making mobile gestator, drone carriers/factories?
stuff that validate a more nomad playlist, build mechanoids on the go, quickly deploy a swarm of drones,
compatch with mechanoid plague so you have more options when upgrading, like installing plague turrets,
cryptosleep casket vehicle/mechanoid that uses dead/frozen pawns psyches as a pilot, kinda like 40k Dreadnoughts.

Just finished up with the upgrade update! Lots of little things were broken (and apparently still are), hope y'all didn't wait too long.

A note for those with Biotech - the autorat is still wonky, but acquiring ratcores from them should now be much simpler (no corpse, but drops detritus inspired by mechanoid slag)

Of course take your time, I wasn't trying to be one of those people nagging hard working modders the code work must be intense while handling your own normal non rimworld stuff to do, I just really appreciate how your vehicles look more like the kind of stuff you'd see humans in the year 5500 making for well vehicles over the station wagon my family had when I grew up, thanks!

yep, sorry 'bout the silence; i do have some additions in a folder (maybe got a little overambitious diving into C# and art with the gridways concept instead of adding/updating/fixing stuff) and i'll probably have time to test them properly in a few months or so.

On that note, there seems to be an ongoing kerfuffle with projectiles on non-explosive guns missing the target - the Horseman's needlegun battery seems particularly susceptible. I'll try and work on figuring that out in the meantime, if anyone knows a reliable direct-hit vehicle weapon do let me know!

Not to rush someone as this was your first mod I understand it was a big job, far more than I could do, I'm just curious if you have interest in returning to this mod or working on, I like this mod as it feels like more unique vehicles you'd see in a scifi setting.

to clarify, the ratcores should be craftable with any mech corpse that you find; lying around, some silver, an advanced component, and an autopistol; i might adjust the recipe a little later on, but ye hopefully the recipe should work for y'all, thanks for telling me about it.

I don't know if i'm just missing something, but the Ratcore assemblies don't seem to have any station to craft them. This makes the vehicles unusable.
I'd assume they'd be a quest reward and the like, but they have a crafting recipe and a way to unlock the recipe in the tech. This page also talks about using corpses for crafting vehicles, and the recipe for the ratcores say they take corpses, further hinting that there should be a method for crafting them.

If i am missing something, i'd really appreciate explaining it to me. If i'm not, I hope it's a simple fix for you!

I'm excited to get to using these really interesting vehicles and not needing pawns to field a fleet of combat vehicles! Thanks for sharing the mod.

I love those mechanoid hybrid vehicles, it just makes too much darn sense that Mechanitors would customize some mechanoids to work as a vehicle platform that they can use to travel across protected, sorta like a "command" mechanoid transport that buff others.

a neat idea; I've a long way to go before I start writing actual compiled C though, and a more practical (possibly more complicated, depends on how it pans out) system on that front I think would be a mobile deep drill of some kind. That falls into 'mobile workbenches' for now, or 'mobile factories' - I won't be working on anything like that until I can figure out how to power things on and off.

I do vaguely recall a mod which did something similar; alas it's eldritch scribbles to me.
