As you mention a server i assume your B41 - you can always go admin mode and tweak season variation down a bit to reduce this. Hope this helps!
I've set max temp to 50 min temp -60 and its april with snow :_/
It's March, and we are still getting winter temps (14F). Our KYR settings are default. (Lat: 38 : World Max Temp 35 : World Min Temp -15 : Overall Variation 9)
Is it normal for it to be this cold in March? Does it have something to do with these settings?
For a survival crafting game, the ideal temperature range throughout the year is above 40°C in the summer and -40°C in the winter.
Say goodbye to playing in your firefighter pants all year round!
It would be even smarter if you specified in the Steam mod description that this is a temperature-changing mod and then directed people to the website with the instructions. Thanks!
You customize them in the sandbox options
That's an awesome idea as well. I've only seen people going for the lower end of temp range for environment challenged play through's, I'd never thought of going the other way!
Glad you're enjoying and it's our pleasure.
I'm trying to do a desert/wasteland scenario by tweaking the settings of this mod so it's always very hot (or most of the time, atleast) and it's a pretty interesting experiment so far alongside the 100 years later mod, so thanks for making this mod :)
For the time being I've gone for a half way house in Boxers, Rubber Boots and a T-shirt... looking a bit "unusual" and would definitely give other survivors a bit of a shock if I ran into any, but seems to be mostly giving me a good balance...
Have you gone for the naked approach Sir?! - let me know how you're handling it!
In some of the older versions we had a higher latitude causing a bit too much rain, but a drought for 1+ month seems kind of crazy... I can only assume this is insanely bad luck. Hunker down... Get yourself a fire going, a load of pots and start boiling the stuff out of lakes and rivers ASAP. There is a large clay storage device that holds around 300 litres that I forget the name of, but you don't even need a kiln to build it, this has already saved me on a number of "Wildman" play through's.
Let me know how you're doing there chief!
I cant see it in the mod features listed above.
I'll drop another comment after work tomorrow once Ive had a chance to look at the code in the mod you mentioned.
Let me know how things go if you try before then!
We're slowly porting our other mods to B42 at the moment and this has our main focus. This is certainly something interesting and I'm certain there are ways to create fixed weather systems... Although I don't know how "exposed" those parts of the code base are too modders. We'll do some digging at our end over the coming weeks and see if I can give you a better answer on this!
Please feel free to swing by our discord and bug me on this again in a few weeks. Next we're hoping to bring Meds, Cures and Delays to B42 as current plans stand.
I am honestly not sure... I'm not familiar with this mod or what it does/uses. When in this situation I have always found it best to fire up and new game with JUST both these Mods installed and see what happens for a few days/weeks.
I'd also try starting the game from a few different Seasons just to make sure nothing crazy happens further down the road.
My suspicion here on first pass is that the mod you linked is more a GFX effect than actually affecting the weather system itself. But I must stress I haven't had a chance to look at the code. Fingers crossed with a little testing this will turn out to be fine and you can enjoy both!
As always - Swing by our Discord with your Console.txt file if anything does go crazy and we'll see if we can make sense of it for you :)
As I mentioned to marshmallow below - if you'd like some assistance in working out what's happening there, please drop by our discord and bring along your Console.txt file, we'd be more than happy to take a look.
If you'd like to "reduce" the effects of this mod then all the settings offer customisation from the menu. Perhaps try reducing the Season Variation by a single digit would be my only other suggestion?
Hope this helps!
In answer to your original Q at the bottom of the post - Yes this is very likely mod conflict as if you try this on a fresh server these problems don't occur. I hope this helps.
If you'd like some assistance working out what conflicts etc. please drop by our discord and bring your console.txt file along and we'll take a look for you!

From the description I thought it only makes things hotter or colder. But from reading comments, there is rainstorms/thunderstorms?
In that case - does it work with the mod "Weather Events" that you can choose to also add Blizzards or Thunderstorms. I thought I would need it so I added it, then our server had a 'thunderstorm' (with thunder sound fx) for almost 3 days straight and the logs said it was Weather Events but higher up there was also "Calculate weather front strength" section with a lot of detailed info, which I assume was this mod.
Secondly, our characters seem to be hot all the time even after stripping almost all our clothes off. Unpleasantly hot 36-37c despite being in practically underwear. Is it a mod conflict?
what would be the steps to follow to get the permissions?
Greetings
The negative Cap is -170C for people who want Cryogenic Winter Settings
I had to grow up fast that day and realize you can't run around wearing long john's in the summer anymore. Thanks for the new hard lesson and potential cardiac arrest... immersion.
I'll drop you an add on Steam if that's ok?
