can we get seperate character specific view models?

would it be possible to have a version with the arm models representing the third person model? isntead of the default gloves

Man, people are really demanding with the viewmodels. Its like they have never play CS 1.6 were all the viewmodels are the same. Nobody is perfect tho. Big appreciation to mav for even making this in the first place. Coz it has been the best one for years.

I agree with most of @Claptrap 's opinion on unique arm viewmodels for most playermodels out there. But imho, for this specific mod, I think Mav's decision of using the same arm viewmodels for all characters actually works the best; at least for me and probably to most people who aims to recreate old Source games vibe. Like I said before, it emulates the feeling very well. It's a great decision in the end. I hope it'll stick since it's already perfect

i'm just expressing to you that i did try to do individual viewmodels but i personally never got satisfied with the results

@mav I don't mean to judge you, I like really like the mod you made for the survivors, it's just If I ever make a playermodel mod, I would stick what I should do, not demand people what they should do with survivor mods.

i juggled a lot with the creative decision making of whether i should give unique viewmodels or strictly make viewmodels stick to playermodel designs. i tried the unique viewmodels a bunch, but the resources i tried ended up not netting great results, surprisingly enough. it actually frustrated me how bad it wound up, but despte that i wanted good viewmodels

I'm not trying to say mav should fix it, I just think that in my opinion. mav can do whatever he wants with the addons he makes.

@Kurono It's accurate sure, but I'm just saying that I think it makes sense for a l4d2 addon to make a viewmodel off their actual playermodel.

I think it's intentional. The old CS games and GoldSrc engine games only use 1 type of first person arms. This mod aims to emulate that feeling.

N-Sanity I agree, it feels weird seeing the viewmodels don't match with the playermodels.

A potential workaround for the leaderboard portrait issue would be to use something like Simple Transition, which removes the leaderboard from the loading screen entirely. You won't be able to see your stats of course, but if the white portraits bother you then it does alleviate the issue.

I was going to ask as well about the post stage scoreboard portraits not showing up and just being a colorless white. Glad to see a fix is on the way hopefully

i tried with this latest update, but it looks like because the icons are solid white, the alpha texturing breaks the rest of the texture when put in the leaderboard unfortunately. i'll actively look for a fix

This is such a well made mod! I built my game around to match its Beta Source look even more after installing this. But one thing though: The post stage scoreboard portraits was shown white due to the protraits being backgroundless and are coloured white. Do you have a solution in the future for this? It's minor but, it gives me a teeny tiny bit of OCD. Still a great great mod overall, 9/10!
