take the vpk file and copy it into SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2 VR\hl2\custom it will work \for the episodes also

after hacking my bios my cpu can address all 8gb of my gpus vram instead of only 256mb. this really sped up particles across all my games but especially hl2vr. i still get stutters but it takes a really big fight to get even a little stutter.

yeah too many blood particles on the ground after a huge fight,and the lingering particles

il reduce these further when i play the mods again,for now its better to uninstall if you dont have a higher end CPU

theres some nasty lag (idk if its fps drop or something else) if you kill alot of combine in a short moment. makes everything all shaky, kind of a cool effect as if you going through trauma from that gunfight but i gotta uninstall, sorry. looks great though

also i just had to make a custom folder in the hl2 folder, not sure if thats what im supposed to do but if so i will clarify and make another post.

for anyone having any issue getting it installed you need to launch the game first for the mod to install. had to remind myself just now.

Really nice mod and the blood droplets are also cool. I think there is no other mod out there for hl2 that has that feature. Just one thing: can you please tell me how I can turn down the duration of the dust? Which file can I adjust t achieve this? If I could tune this down the mod is perfect for me :-)

not really cause they are particles,once they pile up like for eg the nova prospekt shootout and never dissapear it chugs down the fps massively even on my 4090

love this mod but can I make the blood stay and not disappear?

Was using the texture mod here on Workshop which is all ready very cool. I am going to check those mods out for sure, thanks for the tip! Say you seem to know a lot, is it also possible to play custom content mods with the HL2 VR mod?

get you remade assets and alyx assets from gamebanana by vlad dude,a 4k texture pack and it holds up insanely,looks better than 99% of VR games anyway.

yeah I should have read your description before posting, sorry about that! Really cool mod. Replaying this game I am just blown away by how much fun this game is to play, even after 20 years! To bad they don`t make games like this anymore .Linear, heavy scripted with really good direction. Makes you feel like you are having a real adventure. Cheers!

yeah its mainly that dust lingering and proly the blood stains,il reduce their durasion some more soon but currently with the latest version i didnt have any fps loss in the canal anymore

ah I read now you have this to in the canal fight, that is were I am right now. Will check if the mod works better else were for me

Thank you! I'll check it out today. I'm running an 11700kf and 3070ti so I'm lacking in CPU a little.

try now,i reduced the dust linger lifetime and some other stuff,tho its kinda the main point so its still there,personally i aint got much of a fps hit since last optimisation but i got a 13900k.

The effects look sooo good but they really tank my fps especially in larger areas. I usually get at least 120 but now it fluctuates between 70-100. Is there any way you could get a similar effect but improve perf? I'd be ok with the dust only lingering for a few seconds if it'll help.
