Since apparently this is so controversial here's the original sketch:
The original paint was going to be a tannish/white to align more with the colors of a skull.

Here's the sketch with my color references and skulls in order to more accurately depict it's inspiration.
And people wonder why workshop artists get incredibly frusturated with the state of it right now and opt to be spiteful.
Either that or they managed to somehow come across some well made clipart that features very fitting colors and designs for tf2.
