I think the most minimal change you can make is change the eyes to pyro's round eyes with gold tint around the eyeholes so it still works with cosmetics like Pyro in Chinatown or Special Eyes. That's all the critique I have. Otherwise, I would love to see this in game and have one for myself. Just need a little more tweaking to look more like pyro.

Instead of a full head replacement, I think it should be an Anubis idol built around a gas mask similar to the Combustible Cutie. This head replacement goes too far and it's not the Pyro anymor, rather a character from SMITE.

This looks girly and really strange, and it probably fits the shape of pyro's mask to completely fix that (the strange eyes do not help, though). The only way I can think of to make an Anubis head truly fit would be to make the top half into a mask for medic like the Blighted Beak.

who is this? not the pyro. don't get me wrong. this set is amazing. but this isn't tf2. this isn't the pyro. you've stripped every bit of him, his mask, his emblem, his tank, his grenades. im not bashing your work, this is great. i would get this for another game, this isn't the pyro though.

if you're complaining that this cosmetic caters towards furries you're probably just a closeted one, very cool cosmetic and we need more egypt themed cosmetics for pyro or other classes.

Mcfighter gets it. I take back what I said about this feeling like bait. It just feels off , sort of like a black and gold deer head. Although I stick by what I said about this being a good cosmetic, I feel like the adaptation of the source material has some room for improvement. For instance, Anubis is usually portrayed with a long and narrow snout while this has a wide and tapered snout.

You should have gone with a Thoth themed masked instead, it would have hidden the actual intention of this item a little better. 0/10 bait, apply your modeling and texturing skills to items that people would actually be happy receiving.

@Mr. Jay I was trying to say that it shouldn't have any expressions at all since, like Gay Demon Warlord (lol what a name) said, ancient Egyptian statues had very neutral facial expressions. Anything but that wouldn't make sense.

Knowing Valve's incompetency when it comes to taking stuff that's meant to be halloween restricted and then adding it in unrestricted, you can't be sure of that.
Also the workshop hasn't been getting much tacky holiday stuff recently, and of the few that have been put on here, they have been getting negative feedback. Go look at the comment sections of the Ol' Witcheroo or Sole Gargoyles. Also when it comes to random object on head stuff, that has been fairly lacking as well, and of the few creators who do still do that stuff, they usually delete and block people for giving that kind of feedback.

This is still infinitely better than witch hats and monoculus eye-themed ♥♥♥♥, and it would be halloween restricted.

But if y'all have the time to comment on how this is bait, how come I don't see y'all commenting on how bad the beanies, pocket cosmetics and random objects on mercs' head then?

Also people label this as furrybait, because they project their personal biases towards anything that depicts an animal in this game, regardless if it's an animal head or not.

Iunno, if you're the sort of person who genuinely takes issue with a niche community of people, that seeing something made in the workshop upsets you because said niche community of people might like it, then that's really none of your business and also not an issue.

I think part of why this feels a bit like furry bait is because most images of Anubis show him with some sort of headdress which obscures the sides and back of his head, so what we have left here is just a canine head. The smirk probably doesn't help in that regard, either.

Still a good cosmetic either way.

Most of the recent animal head additions have been lacking, but this one rules since we already have so many egyptian-adjacent cosmetics. Plus this entire set works so well together, love to see it get in.
