So, does the mod work or not? Im scared to download it, because another mod broke my game for a week too until the game somehow fixed itself.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having, but I don't think it would be this mod causing it. The mod is entirely reliant on WECCL, so any bugs with character importing should be from there. Please make sure to include the log output and as much information as possible when reporting bugs.
Unless you're using a very old version of the WECCL, the unmodded save file should be completely untouched. Even that would be the case, you could still try loading a backup from
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\MDickie\Wrestling Empire\backups
If you're still having issues after loading a backup, you could try verifying the file integrity from the game properties, or trying on a completely new save file to determine whether it's a game or save file problem.

Broke the game, anytime you press anything it immediately closes it

This mod has entirely broken my game. Firstly it took 4 goes to get it to work. Then it did work and broke my controls. Even after uninstalling the modder and removing these from Steam, the OG game is now completely broken. Really pissed off.

Fun Fact: Using a mod or 2 that restores Snow Job and Flex Beanbag will automatically rename them to Al Snow and Buff Bagwell respectively when this mod is in use too

anyone saying it not working play the game stright from your steam libery not from dasbord shortcut then it will give you option to play modded or not

Every other mod except this one is working, i tried downloading the roster expansion mod and thought that broke it, but it didnt. you might have to update the mod, MD changed a shit ton in the game ngl

For the people complaining about it not working, I'm going to need more info; do you have the vanilla names in the save file, does anything show up in the logs, do other mods work, etc.

In 1.6.0 Mat renamed "Joel Hardon" -> "Joel Hershey" (real name Jeff Hardy) and "Miles Hardon" -> "Miles Hershey" (real name Matt Hardy), need to update their renaming with this mod.

Figured out the problem, wasn't working when installing at the same time as WECCL, so install that, run the game modded, then install this.

I got the mod to work by setting the roster to default then reloading the game. Try that if you're having issues

The mod also isn't working for me either, and I am not playing on Deck. I did already have a renamed save and then went to restore default, but after it didn't rename then, I deleted my saves and it still didn't work, so my guess is it may be a mod conflict? I will try disabling all mods and see if that fixes it.

Also the reason I downloaded the mod despite already having a real name save is I do plan on making a collection of mods for my friend to use, and he hasn't renamed anyone.

I'm guessing it's an issue with the Steam Deck because no mods work on it atm. Just a heads up.

I can't find any problems with it. It should be noted that it replaces characters by name so characters that no longer have their "original" name won't get renamed. If that's not it, try checking the console log for anything unusal.

The only thing is I've installed it like the rest of my mods, all the other ones work, and this one doesn't. Is there something I'm not doing when I load the mod?
