Mentioning your point that "making the hood match the coat doesn’t look good." If your cosmetic doesn't look good with the default model with simple team colouring, then it probably isn't a good cosmetic to begin with and/or needs serious tweaking or reworking. Besides, that point doesn't make sense with that obnoxious paint region. It looks completely out-of-place on medic. If the Coldfront Commander was able to pull-off team recognition, why can't this?

also this needs a blu variant cause it looks even shittier without the matching colour

so since this is on loadout tf i was able to see what this looks with shirt items, @Milf enthusiast it inst as bad as you think it is, probably the worst item would be the Bunnyhopper's Ballistics Vest but paint only changes the arm band. there's way too much team color on medic so its gonna be really hard to try to make this into a scunt medic

I explained why I don't think it works. I tested to see if it works during its production and in my opinion, it doesn't. From a design standpoint, having two items that are mean't to be different articles of clothing, match in colour, makes them read as the same clothing.
I'm not dismissing your opinion on the matter, I'm simply explaining why I disagree with you.

There is honestly no reason to be so hostile about it.

Nothing is stopping you from learning how to use Blender m8. there are also tutorials out there that can teach you how to use it properly.

Yeah honestly, no snark aside, if you really do not like what people in the workshop make, learn how to make content for TF2. It's a community workshop, after all, so anyone's welcome to make whatever they want.

As previously mentioned, making the hood match the coat doesn’t look good.
I know people here are very keen for things to ‘match’ but from a design point of view it wouldn’t work, hence the lighter tone.

That paint region is one hell of a lot more than penny-sized. The hood should be coat-colored and if you're gonna have a paint region put it on the lenses of the spectacles

Hood should probably just match the rest of medic's coat and not be paintable

Timesplitters? Oh that was one of my favorite games to play on the PS2. I should really give Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect a try on my PS2 again someday, just for the sake of memories.

How on earth do voters not understand this? Maybe if all you voters were dedicated enough to tell VALVE that the items they pick allow too much colouring space then maybe they'd do something about it.

Also, making the hood darker by default takes away from the clinical/sterile appearance. And as Medic has a lot of light colours it works better being a lighter tone.

Giving the option to paint the overall hood was chosen as a way to change the use of the hood, painting it a darker colour makes it work a more military/ tactical aesthetic.

Disallowing paint purely on the basis that lime and Pink exist is rather silly. Ultimately those that choose to paint items in those colours are few and far between. What’s more is this item is no more egregious when painted than a lot in game.

@enderspoons, I did try that initially. However doing so made the hood look like it was part of the coat, which is not the intention. The current colours are just a lightened and desaturated version of the labcoat colours in order to help distinguish the hood as it’s own article of clothing.

Darcy is very right. the googles only would make it a lot better! while i prefer no paint regions, that would be better.

The paint region should be instead on the goggles frame, and the base white colour made a darker team colour - other than that I love this cosmetic.

if i got this item I would paint it operator's overalls and make a ninja medic loadout. I'm pretty glad the paint region is what it is and I don't let the spectre of pink-lime ruin my fun - this problem is only as big as your obsession with it!

the paint region doesn't ruin the cosmetic, you just can't imagine anyone using any color other than lime green because you've been conditioned by youtubers to think everyone playing the game is tasteless and obnoxious

I don't see the problem in pointing out that the paintable regions ruin the cosmetic. Besides, it is better to point out the problem before or else you end up with cosmetics like Water Waders for pyro
