Hey, glad you gave this mod a try!
The revolver was on the ground Infront of the fallen soldier, however, it's just an optional small story segment, so nothing critical.

The lab was a cool segment and left me wanting a The Bunker iteration but in a lab lol it'd probably be like Alien Isolation but still.

Voice acting was wacky but I personally really enjoyed it.

Never found the revolver, I just went west, he died, then I left. Not sure if I missed anything

Thanks for reporting this issue, wish I knew of it sooner.
The latest update for Amnesia: The Bunker featured some changes to how items are handled, causing a clash with my versions of things.

It has been fixed.

Hey. I can confirm this problem is indeed a bug in the mod. It's very likely it's due to an Amnesia: The Bunker update that broke these.
I'll work out a solution soon and update the mod accordingly.

I see. These items are generally for immersion only and aren't necessary.
The mod can be completed without them.

I'll check if the problems happen on my end either way though, as it's definitely not intended.

and also for the revolver and the bandage, it when i left click it wouldn't let me use the bandage or aim down the sight of the revolver at all, only the equipment thats modded works, ill verify the files and see if it works after.

Also generally speaking, the revolver has no ammo. This is intended.

Hello.
I don't recommend launching any custom story with other mods, as this feature seems broken as of the last Amnesia: The Bunker update.

For the other issues you're facing, I recommend verifying game files.

buut-
i cant seem to use stuff that's vanilla, like the revolver and a field dressing.
and the first time i launched with other mods the dialog wheel wasnt working at all. soo i restarted without loading mods.

I do like how the environment is incorporated. If you talk with the enemy soldier, you're able to tell which side to say you're in granted you paid attention to what the corpse is wearing outside and what YOU are wearing.

The narrative is that you're sent by your governor to look into what happened to the researchers due to lost communication, just to realize you've been manipulated into war. You decide to venture into the research centers quickly to get them out of the area safely. You find that these researchers are actually employed by the government to develop a super soldier using immoral experiments with radiation on enemy soldiers. You also find out that one of these experiments has failed and the enemy soldier turned into a monster. After communicating with an enemy soldier through communications, you get manipulated further into believing the researchers are still alive. You make your way to research station 2 to find them dead, just realizing it's a trap. Thankfully, the monster from the experiments ends up killing the enemy soldier right as he shoots you. Bleeding, you make your way back to the ship, avoiding grenades, bullets and the monster, making your escape.

No that was it. As unfortunate as it is this project took far more time and resources than anticipated (due to it's space-like nature with SOMA & custom assets), so I couldn't add everything I wanted in time for the modding jam.
The stray bullets hit you when you go out of bounds, with a couple warning shots based on chance.

If you're curious, the mod was planned to feature multiple endings, body tracking, a space station, and even more AI voicelines. All of these have been experimented with, but I think I should've just went with what I know for this jam, instead of trying something so uniquely new and huge.

A lot of this narrative was supposed to be communicated to the player very early on in the space station, and further through notes found in research station 1, but due to unfortunate circumstances and time restraints, this is the best I could do for this story line. Not my proudest creation for sure, but I figured I may as well give it my best and release something.

Did I miss something? All I did was find a card and then talk to some people, when I went to the second base the monster just killed a soldier and then ran off. I wandered around dying to bullets until I went back to the ship, and apparently you just leave or is there a different ending? I'm not too sure what the point was since there isn't any real narrative or challenge.

I will say that SOMA assets were the large factor to the file size of the mod. I could've made it so only people with SOMA can play the mod and have a really low file size, but I decided to opt against it so more people can play the mod.
The biggest hurdle with SOMA assets is that some of the materials such as GUI need fixing and stuff like the omnitool took quite a lot of hassle to implement into The Bunker as both games use incredibly different inventory systems. It was also difficult for me to remove the excess and unused SOMA assets, to which I used python coding and a lot of asset recovery to get right.

Overall on the compatibility scale I would rate it 8/10

i didnt know you could use stuff from soma, was it hard to implement stuff from it or is compatible between games?

I think I know what the issue was. After the recent update to the mod for Halloween compatibility, it seemed like an issue was caused that would give off the message "Out of bounds" when you get close to the ship, misguiding the player.
Apologies for the bug. I released an update that should fix this. Hopefully you still enjoyed the rest of the mod. If you're curious what the ending was, you could check out the YouTube gameplay linked with the mod.

Hey sorry to hear this happened to you! I will look into it. The scanner is supposed to lead you back into the ship. Stray bullets shoot you when you go out of bounds.

I didnt know where to go after the soldier gets taken by the monster and that I "Had to get out of here". I just kept roaming around getting shot by stray bullets. In one time I got shot and killed without any chance for cover after going into the open for just a few steps. The scanner did not reveal where to go .

Lots of cinematic flair, but I didnt even get to the ending cus I was frustrated.

Hello. It's a SOMA entity that does not open in the original game. To heal the fallen soldier, you can use the bandage found on the table in the medic bay. (Unlocking a small scene where you heal the soldier and he thanks you)

Thank you for the feedback! Though, whether I'll follow up on it in the future or not is still up to debate. HPL is not designed for such 45 degree corners and open spaces, so I had to use some cheesy techniques to make it work. I also like to make comedy mods in my spare time (if I do), serious mods such as this are more for jams.

But, in-case I end up participating in the next jam, which I probably would, I like to add a unique aspect to each one of my jams. I doubt I'll use this same concept, as then my next entry won't be as unique. Notice how this mod was in the midst of battle on mars out of all places, with dialogue choices? That's pretty unique if you ask me haha. I also wanted a space section but that didn't work out too well. I will probably continue exploring the space aspect though as it is a territory barely anyone investigated and does have relation to Frictional's next game.

I suppose we'll just have to see what the future will hold. :bsleach:

I liked the ideas you put into place for the concept and felt honestly amazed by the whole intro. This mod does feel more like a demo for a much bigger project with how quick it is. Are you planning on expanding with a new entry in the future?

Hey, thank you for leaving feedback! I agree with your points and wanted this mod to be a lot more, but due to time constraints and unexpected events with the previous team, it did fall short in some aspects. In the original script, the choices would actually matter and would determine your ending and encounter with the soldiers . There would've also been a space station explaining practically everything about the story.

I hope you at least enjoyed some aspects in the mod! :Montaro:

Liked the mod but came out disappointed with how abrupt this custom story felt. Looks like it could've been much more but even so events-wise fell just a bit short. Choices didn't seem to matter besides just different dialogue leading to no real meaningful outcome. Feel like this didn't get the time it needed, there's a direction I was liking the moment I entered the first area, as someone who has never played SOMA it gave almost gave me the vibes of Penumbra: Black Plague environment of eerie abandoned/destroyed research facility. I'm sure if this mod had more time and care with the story, environment, survival and gameplay direction as well, it would've been a lot more different of a custom story.

Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed the mod! I wish I could've added more as well. There was actually supposed to be a space station in the mod but we (unironically) lost contact with the mapper on the team, so I had to sketch the mars map very quickly in the last 3 weeks or so of the mod.
I did try to add some detail in (like secret war-ducks) and originally you were even supposed to be able to go into Research Station 2 but I had to scrap that due to time constraints last minute.

As for the SOMA stuff, I don't see why it shouldn't be redistributable in other Frictional setting. Some of the assets (Like UI elements) have had modification done to them and I deleted just about almost everything that wasn't used in the mod. Overall, if Frictional has a problem with it I'll definitely just add a requirement for SOMA, but I doubt they would. Just did this so everyone with Amnesia: The Bunker can enjoy the mod. :Dogeface:

Weird and unexpected custom mod :D The SOMA stuff was cool and the custom details that you added (like restored terminals) were all nice to see, all I wish that there was a little more to play and find in the environment. If you feel like it this really could use an expansion with no time limit, as it has potential!

All in all a very different and decent concept, good job, recommended!
