Have you all considered that the reason why you are on the opposite side of a Black Ark is because you we're all in a conga line and it ended with you all on the other side

They did actually fix that for WH2 but, I guess, the branch that became WH3 was created before that version.

When you attack with a black ark you end up on the attacking side, which made no damn sense :/

The army placement is reversed. If you are defending the Black Ark, you start far away from the gates, while the attacker starts in front of the gates.

hey something thats been happening a lot to me is that my reinforcements are coming from the same direction (even the same spot) as the enemy reinforcement, which pretty much makes my reinforcements useless sometimes

Thanks, saruman. Was it an actual choke point battle or a land battle that triggered at a choke point? If it was a choke point map it was likely either an issue with the base game or another mod is the reason I ask

Battle of Kradtommen choke point map is a lush green high elf choke point, yet the battle is in the barren wasteland mountains of clan morrs starting region.

I am was just testing compatibilities with Chatgpt and just as a curious fact it showed me this for yours:

The mod definitely needs improvements. I'm already on my 50th turn as Karl Franz and I've only played on about 5 maps, 4 of which were from this mod...

As I understand it the first time a battle is fought in a region the game draws a map from the deck, after that whenever a battle is fought in that region during the campaign the same map is used.

Ahh, so its more like a seed thing and I just got unlucky? Adjustable percentage or some sort of config via config mod would be awesome.

Also, I was trying some ranked multiplayer battles and just noticed those maps arent bad and are actually quite interesting, but it seems to me that they are only for multiplayer or custom battles and never seen them in campaign, so, it would be possible to create mod that would add them to the pool too?

Although you should keep in mind that the frequency of maps you see is not entirely random with the way the game is set up. For example, if you keep doing a battle in the same area, then you will get the same map over and over, no matter how many maps are in the pool

Those maps are cool, but i feel like im getting them 80 % of the time instead over the vanilla ones, is this intentionall? I didnt see vanilla map in long time and it feels like something is off.

I try to customize the maps with correlated regions in campaign with RPFM i want to appear the battle map only on grasslands.
As i understand to do this i need to only delete whole row like "map location/Group (forest,coast etc.)/Catchment name" located in "battle_catchment_override_group_battles_tables" and leave only grasslands "groups"?

Or something else remain to make it work correctly?

So each of CA map is only correlated to a single "group", but each of the modded map correlated to 3-4 groups which means the modded map will get picked every time(Naggaroth plains for example, will have a pool of 1-2 CA map and all modded 10 or so Naggaroth map).
There'll be less repetition if each map only correlates to a single group so the same map could not show up for multiple terrain types.

Another thing is some maps are given unsuitable groups such as dark elf desert showing up in the Southland deserts. Some maps like "mines of quintex" and "plains of fear would be more appropriately mapped to "Naggaroth petrified" instead of all of Naggaorth.

I tried doing it myself but the sheer amount of maps here is making this difficult.
Also, do you know how to make certain maps show up for minor settlement battles? Maps like Chateau de Roquefort would be better as a minor settlement map instead of a generic Brettonia map.

I'm not asking for anything, just making suggestions. Thanks.

BTW I plan to do what you're talking about the in next update. Basically the appearance of custom maps would decrease in the base mod across the board. However, there would be an optional add-on(s) that remove some or all CA maps to allow people to customize their experience.

So if you don't feel like doing it yourself, you can always wait for that.

Catchment name tells the game which section of the megatile to use. The battle folder path and catchment name must always stay the same

So I've poking around abit with mod tools, may I ask what does "catchment name" under /battle_catchment_override_group_battles_tables do?

Can you make these maps more province/region specific? There are alot of maps that are wayyy too specific to spawn as part of a random generic pool.

Some maps are nice. Others feel very multiplayer focused... Too symetrical. Plus as others have mentioned they don't always fit the location the battle is taking place. Plus I found that they seemed to take overwhelming precedence over the vanilla maps.
Wasn't unusual to see the same exact map 2-3 times in a row despite having battles in completely different areas.

Still, it's certainly worth a look if you're curious.

This mod is amazing don't get me wrong! But it's starting to break my immersion rather than increase it with these random terrains completely unrelated to the armies positioning on the map.

I am almost positive it's this mod, not really sure whats going on but it's giving me incorrect terrains constantly now. Malus attacked one of my armies just off the coast of Southern Norsca and it gave me a jungle map mixed with Cathayan and high Elven buildings...... Lol XD.... before that I had one literally right outside the walls of Zharr Nagrund with a beastmen army and it gave me a Nurgle infested forest map XD. All of the units in that army were ranged so that was fun lol.
