No Police Scans for Player-Owned Ships

can confirm that this "bug" (which at this point must be by design if its still there years later) is still present, i keep getting terrans randomly going all red on me the moment they start scanning my ships, guess this is a permanent addition to my list:steamfacepalm:

I keep getting scanned by ANT Station Police near wheat factories after EMPing or Signal Hunting. Seems like it's specifically that faction, haven't triggered it from other factions.

For me it's the issue where a ship (usually auto-trading) is getting a scan request while it's docking with a (*critical) process so it can't respond to the police who then turn hostile and open fire -.-

It's still mandatory for me. I recently deactivated this mod, and the same thing happened.

as much as i hate the bug, it is really interesting to imagine in my head canon that maybe a deal went wrong or something shady and one of your ships attacked the police, leading to one of your unaware allied ships intervening too which escalates.

Thank you @rudi, you are a lifesaver, or at least have prevented further frustration. Losing ships and entire stations due to a bug is nerve wrecking. This bug is totally annoying and it speaks very badly of the developers that they haven't fixed it yet.

@Aramada if you can give that save to egosoft i'd be so grateful! there are lots of reports but so far most get "need a save" from egosoft so there's not much progress on bug fix.
Ironically, i'd love for this mod not to be needed anymore.

Looks like it worked! Based on the save, I'm pretty sure the bug happens when a police unit starts scanning a target in travel drive and it gets out of range. Then it goes hostile.

Having the rare bug where a ship with no cargo is getting scanned by police and is turning it plus the carrier in Titan hostile. Trying this mod and will report back if it helps. I have a save where this happens a good 80% of the time (thanks autosave, it caught it right before)

scratch that, a Baku full of spaceweed finally got scanned even with the conflicting deadair_script xml file removed

I am using deadair_scripts. After deleting the conflicting script there I assigned some traders to sell spaceweed to ARG and they haven't been popped yet. That said, I haven't tested for too long due to getting softlocked by an unrelated 7.10 beta bug so I may have just gotten very lucky.

Unfortunately it just started happening for me today on a 15 hour play through. It's just the Wharf in Great Reef (so far). I've had 3 different BOA ships get scanned by station police and had to drop cargo over a 30 minute period. Different trades routes. They are on the DeadTater mod. But up until now I haven't had any issues with Police Scans. It was Space weed on two occasions and Majadust on one. I'm +14 Rep with the Boron but -30 now with that particular Wharf. I'm running version 7.00 HF1 of the game. I wasn't having any issues until today. I was not in the secotr personally. I just noticed that Steam shows it downloaded a 2.0 kb update last night to X4. Not sure if it's related. But didn't have any issues until today. I know I'm running the HF1 game version but just wanted to give you a heads up... thanks for this mod by the way!!

so far the only other time i got scanned since the last time it happened was when directly next to a station by one of the small security ships after sitting there with SETA on. other than that no other police try to scan me so i just dont loiter around stations anymore.

Kinda weird. One of my fellow ships got scanned and I was notified. An NPC flew it though, I never got scanned when flying a ship

Can ya'll let me know if this mod is helping you with stopping a bug where police scans a ship without any contrabands, and starts the downward spiral of player assets being destroyed? I couldn't find any changes in 7.0 update that would break this mod, and it works on my end, but it's also hard to reproduce bug

God damn! Happened 3 times in the same session. One crackhead police ship just decides a mining ship must die for no reason, and then suddenly an entire fleet of destroyers is wiping out my stations??? Even though all my pilots are instructed to destroy illegal wares, and none of them had any illegal cargo.

Thank you for this vital patch! Such a dumb bug.

@meolan really like that idea, if i end up updating this mod to do this properly I'll definitely do that! Currently, it's more of a hack that took me few weeks to find (testing that it works was *tedious*!) and i was hoping it won't be needed after 6.20.

If you have a couple thousand ships roaming about, this "rare bug" comes up every couple of minutes.

if the police just attacked the trader with the imaginary illegal goods, id be fine with it, but noooo, they have to involve the entire factory complex and 60 terran ships. i cant have that sort of rep hit, i hope this fixes it, ill give anything a try

i believe it doesn't work with the boron ships which is what i've been manufactioring and they are dumping cargo when running into police.

Rare bug indeed. One of the reasons why i stopped using capital ship loot magnet because my miners were auto looting all inventory drops when mining in TER space and kept getting scanned and losing rep for the illegal ones. I do not deal in illegal goods apart from workshop items so it is balanced for me.

@Mr.Hishprung -- but there's a lot of money to be made with illegal goods. I set up illegal goods factories. With this I can now use my own ships to move "goods" instead of relying on NPC ships to make money from those factories. I like this mod and am watching my account go up.

There should be IG option to make your ship immediately drop illegal goods when entering the sectors. There is shit ton of stuff that are logical but missing in base game

Will use it. Got a bug that made police scan me from the other side of the sector while i was in travel mode, wich they normally never do.
