B42 Update please!

How often do the sounds go off? Feel like after awhile it could be annoying unless it has a rather low percentage

Fixed this problem by deleting the workshop folder in PZ's files, and once reloading the game all the files reappeared in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600" — Including Knock Knock's files.

As of now the mod seems to be broken, it will not put any files into my local files despite the mod showing up in the in-game mod menu.

does it work for build 42?

If you read back in the comments you'll see i'm sort of unofficially responsible for a B42 update - and said update will come when the B42 patches have stabilized, as every patch rolls back the changes this mod makes.

@K4 For anyone looking for the twitchy zombies, I believe it's from a mod called 'Afraid of Monsters'. I haven't tested it myself though.

the screams are SO loud that it just gets super annoying after a while but other than that its a really cool mod!

I will update this mod when the current patch hotfix cycle is stabilized. If I haven't patched it by August at the latest, poke me.

Im guessing this is only client side and not the whole server. unless there is a way to do it?

Installed it but its not showing up in my game files, any ideas? (also does setting it up like described in the desc work for a mp server? or do I have to do something else)

Update on the update: Yet again the newest B42 patch changed the sound bank, so I'm going to wait still to update this. I promise I will; *I* want to use it, it's just not worth the ~2 hrs of work to keep doing it for every patch.

It's not a pain to update, but basically the way this mod works (and all sound mods) is that Zomboid's files are compressed into one big lump file called a bank file. It's like an archive full of sounds. Anyway, every time they update the game and change the sounds, the bank file gets updated. This means that every time the mod gets updated it needs rebuilding with the new files, which would be a pain in the arse to repeat every time they updated the game. So I'm waiting for a slow-down on that.

As it stands the mod does also need updating period- B42 added custom sounds for sprinters and it would be a huge mistake not to take advantage of that for such a horror-directed mod. That's where I intend to take the most editorial leeway in updating the mod, which I imagine some people might not like, but I think repeating sounds would be wasted potential.

@Harlequin is it because they added new sounds or more in depth would you say? soory if its a pain of updating

I still intend to update this, but every Unstable patch rebuilds the sound bank file, making it a constant cat-and-mouse game. I am going to wait for a lull in Unstable patches to update it. I intend to produce a version with my own changes (new and different sounds) as well as a completely vanilla version.
