@TangoHotelCharlie By default, MG OW cone can be adjusted from medium to long range. Maximum range depends on Marksmanship. If the merc has low MRK, only one range is available. However, there is a checkbox in Mod Options to unlock short ranges.

Thanks for the idea! I added mod options to either use the next turn's AP or just set the minimum MG interrupt count.

UPDATE RELEASED:

- An option to control NEXT TURN AP
- An option to adjust MG Minimum Interrupt Attacks
- An option to unlock short MG OW ranges
- Fixed "Pack MG" AP cost for Heavy Weapons perk

I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about coding or how to work the mod editor, but I just hatcheted away at your lua script until I was left with something that only altered free interrupt attacks and then changed that to 3. Seems to functionally be similar to 1.02.

So, thanks for roundabout helping me do this by having a mod that explicitly only dealt with machine guns.

Nah, I get it. But I thought what made MGs cool was being able to shoot and also overwatch. The functionality of shooting on your turn while still maintaining a 4 shot overwatch cone is the behavior I'm talking about. I don't really care about unlimited shots, I wasn't aware that was a thing and does seem unbalanced.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to even open files in the mod manager, though.

Before 1.03, it wasn't Max AP only. The number of remaining interrupts recalculates after each kill (I've no idea why, maybe another bug). Hence, once you score a kill with MG interrupt in 1.02, the interrupt count reset back to max. High MRK mercs never ran out of interrupts because they were certainly scoring a kill during 3-4 interrupts to reset the number again.

Is there any way to just make it work off Max AP again? I don't know anything about how to mod this game. I kinda just want the original functionality of ~4 interrupts + shooting on your turn combined with the acc nerfs. I feel like this mod is actually stronger than that.

@BlackWater821 technically, both mods can work together. However, it will result in MG being way OP again. MMGGA focuses on increasing interrupt count but keeps lowered damage and accuracy of 1.03. Boosting damage and accuracy will make MG like in 1.02 again - where one MG can eliminate the entire enemy squad.

This sounds lovely, am testing this with the SkunkXL 'big brain' CombatAI, if u do not hear from me... it works well.
