while this is a great and fun tool to use, the fact that it ejects the shotgun shells after each shot is a little bogging me. could it be possible to make the shotgun eject the shells during the reload animation?

The casings ejecting after each shot is intentional, just to make the shotgun more unique.

The casings do a silly thing where they eject after each shot and not during the reloading process. Beyond that it is a wonderful weapon.
