Spartan: The mod hasn't been updated for years, theres one with both parts combined but that hasn't been updated since 2015 and so it doesn't work with the current patch, which is 19 I beleive.

Tell ya what kids...take some time out and actually research some of the larger battles during the Roman Republic and then during the Empire and if you can find a single batttle where the Roman legions turned tale and fled either after suffering slight losses or when winning a conflict then I will withdraw my comments....however, if you don't (whispers....and you won't) then the adult thing to do would to be to write and apology and admit you don't know what the fiddle you are talking about....(whisper....heads up...we already know that!)

Read about the mod 'Strategic thinking' and the rpg like changes to generals With an overhaul we can be creative. There are many elements to mess with but I think making the generals more dynamic would add a lot to what is already good.

On the matter of Civil war, rather than highten the rate to show the Army beginning to control politics, which didn't happen again until the last decade of 100 years, there may be a better solution, considering this is startpos. The way I see it you would use the generals. If you've remove the families will it work like barbarian factions with a ruling family and other families effect? We can bring more people on for any idea I come up with that you aren't sure about. One option is making two families and Traian as leader of either and giving them different mission obvectives and or mission objectives for the faction and for the army and they effect family support. Somehow having to keep the people and the army happy. Basically this is what Traian did if you look before and after him at what happened to other leaders. There are many ways to do this. Like letting an army raid would give more support maybe even more if they are opposition because you let them do it.

- Mauryan Empire removed and replaced with the Kushan Empire.

- Three Roman families removed.

- Now Traianus is faction leader.

- Changed minimum and maximum fame level in order to delay civil war.

- Palmyra is now playable

Why is it that civil war keeps on erupting by turn 13 or so? Its so early I don't think this his historical.

I've not tried this mod yet, but the Mauryan Empire didn't exist at this time.

Could I suggest making the shields of the Round Shield Swordsmen unit the shield that the Velites use? Just a preference, it's obviously up to you I just for some reason think that would work well. Great work by the way!

In a Roman Legion you must follow your cohort. If your cohort flees, you must follow. However if the state did not issue your cohort to retreat a punishment is conducted. Every tenth man is executed resulting in a tenth of the cohort being decimated. Which means despite you involuntarily retreating you could still be kill.

At least the first part of your comment is closer to myth than reality. The Romans were human just like any ancient soldiers, it isn't hard to find examples of them fleeing battles and therefore not fighting to the last man. They certainly shouldn't in most cases be willing to fight to the last man. This very thing happening was rather rare.

ok here is the problem with thius mod, and its a big one. Legionary units, well think of them as ther army rangers...do or die hang in there until the last man is standing....not the cub scouts like how you guys have them...where if a menacing shadow of a butterfly flaps by they all run away wetting their pants! And I have a huge problem with the descrepency between the amount of casualties between one summery screen and the other. One says one thing then the other says something else...what is this monty python? Yeah I killed 500 troops, then the next screen says 300...they were dead but apparently got better. And lastly there has to be some mitigation of dammage to be somewhere more realistic...I had 3 companies of archers firing a good few minutes into enemy ranks and then after everyone on my side saw a menacing mean looking catapiliar and ran away i saw on the damage summery that none of my archers killed a single enemy! Maybe the other side invented kevlar or something?

I think a period like what you want would be a good separate mod if the 100 year span is right. Family type choices would still be the way to go. With research perhaps the families in this mod will look different.

We do need people to play for feedback and perhaps a group for development, I think TWCenter may host. That way suggestions will be here and important research can be centralized.

Cuts launcher manager out and you can make separate saved mod layouts but keep launcher layout mods too.

Try this.. Mitch's mod manager. The units are from 101 AD so vanilla rosters are meaningless.

Why on earth would you not use the mod manager that's built into the launcher? Since I can't disable without deleting I guess I wont be running the mod. I really wanted to play Trajan's wars too but why would you even release something that disables starting a vanilla campaign?

Havent played the mod yet (have to finish conquering the rest of the world for rome in vanilla first) but I loved the history lesson in the desctiption!
