I think it's more nuanced than that. In that, it is inspired by the Thorfin's past, but there are a lot of ways a person ends up after that and different stages too.

I need details, blocking a pawn's ability to fight makes sense for pacifist but that would miss the point of Vinland Saga. The true warrior is one who can fight when necessary but turns away when it isn't, not someone who gets walked over like Einar.

As someone who (never read the manga) has recently watched the second season I appreciate this. I would like to see some descriptions of these backstories and the perk though.
