Scrolling down will let you know that using "debugdraw" will let you bypass any kind of limitations when saving. It was pretty new to me, too, but unfortunately I've left the sub designer alone for a real long time.

The map will never be extended, due to the light limit that the game imposes on me. I can have the extension of the map be pitch dark and also lack any other items that count as lights, but I don't feel like doing that.
